Background / History

Transmigration and Previous Simulations

Lin Feng was a university student on Blue Star before transmigrating into the Naruto world during the Second Shinobi World War. His friends died, and even six-year-olds were sent into battle. After activating his system, he received a chance to move to another random world and arrived in the world of Honkai: Star Rail 1 22.

By his first appearance, he has completed six Path simulations. Following the story and fighting the Doomsday Beast repeatedly has failed to earn the S grade needed to leave the Herta Space Station domain. Destruction proves too demanding, while he considers Erudition unsuitable for his intelligence. Determined not to return to the war, he chooses Elation and abandons his previous rule-following approach 1.

Stellaron Implantation and the Staged Sacrifice

Silver Wolf prepares his vessel, and Kafka implants the Stellaron. Lin Feng uses his proximity-based affection talent to delay her departure, kisses her without permission, then feigns confusion and calls her his mother when she threatens him. Kafka accepts the apparent memory loss, comforts him, and leaves with Silver Wolf. Aha subsequently recognizes Lin Feng as an Elation pathstrider 2 3.

Lin Feng then pretends to be unconscious so March 7th will revive him. Joining March and Dan Heng, he fights Voidrangers and repeatedly protects March. When the group becomes overwhelmed, he stays behind to cover their retreat, knowing his defensive talent can withstand the enemies 4 5 8 9.

His companions mistake this performance for a fatal sacrifice. Using a purchased holographic device, he makes himself appear mortally wounded and listens as they mourn him and March confesses her love. He ends the deception by introducing faint signs of life before they can proceed with his funeral 10 11 12 13.

Battle Against the Doomsday Beast

After spending the night with Asta, Lin Feng notices that the Doomsday Beast has not attacked at its usual time. He suspects his actions have changed the simulation’s established events 16 17.

When the beast arrives, he refuses evacuation, both to preserve his simulation prospects and because he will not abandon Asta. He fights alongside Himeko, Welt, Dan Heng, and March to buy time for the station’s evacuation 20 22 23.

Drawing on previous simulations, Lin Feng provokes the beast into firing its strongest ray, intending to awaken his Stellaron by taking the blast directly. He shields Himeko, survives, and severely injures the creature. His power expires before he can finish it with a second strike; Asta’s purchased Star Destroyer ultimately defeats the beast 24 25 26 28.

Station Hero and Conflicting Romances

Following the battle, Lin Feng becomes celebrated throughout the station. Asta gives him access to custom phones and a black card containing one billion Credits. Although interested in joining the Astral Express, he chooses to remain while Himeko recovers 31 32 33.

He gathers researchers’ contacts and joins anonymous chat groups to expand his knowledge for future simulations. When Fragmentum corrosion strands researchers in the Storage Zone, he clears the monsters, restores elevator power, and rescues them 35 38.

His investigation into rumors about Asta brings him into contact with Pamela, who demands provocative photographs of Himeko as payment for information. He accepts the bargain and visits Himeko’s hospital room. Asta later credits him with stopping the slander at its source and restoring her reputation 39 41 44.

Lin Feng accepts Asta’s confession, but March secretly witnesses their affection and leaves heartbroken. The resulting achievement makes him recognize the danger of a romantic rivalry, and he resolves not to give up either woman. Himeko encourages March to pursue him rather than retreat from her feelings 45 46 47 49.

He is flirtatious and manipulative, using calculated dialogue, feigned amnesia, apparent vulnerability, and affection-enhancing talents to influence women. His misconduct includes stealing Kafka’s kiss and touching Himeko while believing she is unconscious 2 6 15 41.

His self-interest coexists with genuine attachment. He refuses to leave Asta behind during the Doomsday Beast attack and does not regard another simulation attempt as a replacement for their relationship.
