The next morning, in the Central Control Zone, Lin Feng found Melon Farmer Pamela at work.
"Come with me..."
"Wow, you got the photos! That's the Galactic Baseball Hero for you!"
Her face brimming with excitement and anticipation, Pamela followed Lin Feng to a secluded corner of the cabin.
"Lin Feng, my hero, hurry up and show me those alluring photos of Himeko!"
"I'm so excited... I seriously can't wait!"
Frowning slightly, Lin Feng took out his black phone and showed her a few photos of Himeko he had taken the night before.
Of course, he had kept the most alluring ones for himself. He certainly wasn't going to let Pamela see those.
"That gorgeous sleeping face... that goddess-like figure! This is too much! Ohhh... I can't resist her at all!"
"Himeko is so beautiful. She's as dazzling as the stars in the sky..."
Pamela stared dreamily at Himeko's photos on Lin Feng's phone, practically drooling.
"Lin Feng, my hero... could you let me save one? Please!"
"I want to hang an alluring photo of Himeko on my dorm wall and look at it every day..."
Pamela leaned closer, her face filled with desperate longing, leaving even Lin Feng a little surprised.
He had originally thought Pamela was just a sucker for a pretty face.
Now it seemed this woman was an outright pervert.
"Nice try... but no chance!"
"All right, you've seen the alluring photos of Himeko. Now tell me Watermelon Field Chara's real identity!"
Seeing Pamela's expression grow increasingly lecherous, Lin Feng quickly slipped his phone back into his pocket.
He folded his arms across his chest and spoke with a cold expression.
"Aaah! Let me look a little longer... I haven't had enough! Himeko... Himeko, hehehe..."
"Himeko's body must be so soft and fragrant. I really want to hug her..."
His sharp brows drawing together slightly, Lin Feng repeated his earlier trick and flicked Melon Farmer Pamela on the forehead to bring her to her senses.
"Ow, ow, ow! Go easy on me, my hero!"
"Watermelon Field Chara's real identity? I'll tell you right now... He's actually Richard from the Legal Affairs Department. This information is absolutely reliable!"
"Here's another tip, free of charge: he's that tall, skinny guy with side-swept bangs and black-framed glasses."
"The people in his department kicked him out not long ago. He usually hangs around the reception hall."
"With that information, finding him should be easy for you, right, my hero?"
The pain in her forehead instantly brought the eccentric Melon Farmer Pamela back to her senses, and she told Lin Feng everything she knew.
"Good. I've got the details now."
"Don't forget what you promised earlier..."
Looking at the now-calm Pamela, Lin Feng spoke in all seriousness.
"I know, I know... If there's anything I can help with, just say the word."
"Could you give me a photo of Himeko as a reward?"
At the mention of Himeko, Pamela's expression began to twist slightly again, turning dreamy.
"Well... that depends on how you perform."
"I'm off..."
With that, Lin Feng waved, turned, and left to find Richard from the Legal Affairs Department.
A short while later, Lin Feng found the tall, thin young man in black-framed glasses in a corner of the reception hall.
"You're Richard?"
"You... you're Lin Feng? The great hero who saved Herta Space Station?"
Richard pushed up his black-framed glasses, looking startled and somewhat uneasy.
"That's right... Come with me. We'll talk somewhere else."
As he spoke, Lin Feng placed his hand on Richard's shoulder, his voice cold.
A short while later, in a quiet, deserted corner, Richard looked apprehensive, a hint of panic in his eyes.
"You're the one spreading rumors that Asta has been lining her own pockets, aren't you?"
"Uh... Mr. Lin Feng, they aren't actually rumors. I saw all those things with my own eyes."
"A-and I have evidence. Look at this receipt. She bought equipment for the space station in her own name... I caught her red-handed."
As he spoke, Richard pulled a crumpled receipt from the breast pocket of his uniform.
"Oh? You call this evidence?" Lin Feng sneered.
"The space station has financial procedures. Whatever we purchase has to go through the corporate account, using a budget approved by the company."
"The payer listed here is her personal account. Clearly, she's misappropriating public funds!"
"It's disappointing. Heartbreaking! She looks like such a decent young woman. Madam Herta promoted her, and not only does she fail to repay that kindness, she gets involved in this sort of filthy business."
"I was so angry that I started shaking. My hands and feet went ice-cold, and I broke out in a cold sweat despite the heat!"
Even in front of Lin Feng, Richard grew more animated as he spoke, wearing a self-righteous expression as though he alone was sober in a world of drunks.
"Angry, shaking, and cold, huh? Now you'll really know what that feels like!"
With a cold laugh, Lin Feng lashed out with his hand, sending Richard sprawling to the floor with a single slap.
Seeing Watermelon Field Chara's true colors for himself ignited a nameless fury in Lin Feng. He wasn't about to indulge trash like this.
Though he had held back enough not to kill the bespectacled young man with one slap, he had still knocked out several of his teeth.
"Ugh... M-Mr. Lin Feng, I..."
Richard struggled to his feet, clutching his swollen cheek, blood hanging at the corner of his mouth. He stared at Lin Feng as though he had seen the Grim Reaper. His righteous indignation had vanished, leaving nothing but terror in his eyes.
"Listen... Asta hasn't been lining her own pockets. She's been paying out of pocket to buy equipment for the space station. She's practically giving without asking for anything in return."
"And a malicious little worm like you, instead of being grateful, sits here making things up. You're despicable!"
"You have one hour to publicly retract every one of those rumors! Restore Asta's reputation, then get the hell off Herta Space Station!"
"If I still see you here after that, I'll give you a goddamn orbital drop!"
Lin Feng stepped forward and lifted the scrawny man into the air as easily as picking up a chick. Each word he spoke sounded like the voice of a demon.
"I... I'll do it right away! Don't kill me!"
Lin Feng tossed him aside like garbage. Richard scrambled to his feet, already scared out of his wits. Relief at having survived showed on his face as he ran off without looking back.
An orbital drop? Herta Space Station was in near orbit around Azure Star, more than ten thousand kilometers above the surface. If Lin Feng really threw him down, he would probably be carbonized without even ashes left behind. The thought of slowly burning away was ten thousand times more terrifying than death.
And judging by Lin Feng's expression, Richard didn't doubt for a second that he was capable of doing it.
With trembling hands, Richard picked up his phone and immediately began retracting the rumors in all the group chats, terrified that anything less than a thorough job would cost him his life.
