It had been a long time since I last posted a comment. A chance glance at the comments section reminded me of the Reze arc back when the book first went premium. As luck would have it, I caught COVID for the first time just a few days before that. The symptoms were pretty severe, and in particular, my head wasn't clear for a whole month. I guess it was something like "brain fog"?
Back then, forcing myself to keep updating was already my limit. Every day, I had no idea what I was even writing, and I had no mental energy left to pay attention to the finer details between the male lead, Reze, and Xiaohong. That made the male lead come across as really letting Xiaohong down during the Reze arc (by the time my head cleared and I realized the problem, it was already far too late).
Of course, I wouldn't dare say I could definitely have handled that arc well if I hadn't caught COVID. My ability really is very limited, so criticize away where it's deserved. I'll stand here and take it.
If the Reze section was badly written, then the plot after that was even worse, because I felt like I didn't know what to write anymore. I just kept expanding the harem to cobble together a plot, completely contradicting the comment I posted when I first started the book: "I won't add harem members indiscriminately."
