Fujino Asagami seemed not to have realized what had happened to her yet. She tilted her head in confusion, but that adorable gesture instead had extremely serious consequences.
The moment her eyes stopped meeting Roland's, the Mystic Eyes that had been suppressed for so long lunged instinctively at the place her gaze settled, like a tiger trapped in a cage.
The wall behind Roland was easily shattered by an enormous force. Starting at its center, an invisible vortex twisted apart everything around it, collapsing most of the brick wall. Yet the force continued spreading. The abandoned building behind the wall suffered the same fate, and even the reinforcing steel within the stone was instantly twisted into spirals when it touched that distorting force.
"I can't stop... I can't control these eyes..."
Seeing the devastation wherever her gaze fell, Fujino cried out and quickly turned her head aside so she would not look at Roland.
She had no idea how to control this power, because she had done nothing. She had not even intended to attack; she had simply looked over.
"Calm down. Close your eyes slowly."
Roland's gentle voice reached her then, and he stretched out his hand to cover Fujino Asagami's eyes.
The distorting force rapidly spread along this uninvited obstacle, but strangely, aside from a piercing sound like clashing steel in the air, Roland's hand did not even tremble.
He simply held his hand over Fujino Asagami's face and gently closed her eyes.
