C-Moon's ability could let Roland reverse the planet's rules, but that was not enough. He had to find the right location to bring his own rules into balance with the planet and thereby complete his evolution.
In the original story, the location chosen by DIO and Father Pucci was Cape Canaveral. There, uneven gravity, combined with a particular angle and time, could bring about that ascension.
But in Type-Moon, physical laws themselves were a membrane fixed to the planet's surface by the Storm Tower, so the same principles clearly could not be applied across the board. The best proof was that fate had yet to give Roland a clear destination.
If it was merely a matter of overcoming the planet's gravity, Roland had other ways to do it. The Chicken Talisman's divine power of levitation could accomplish the same thing, but that clearly did not meet the ritual's requirements.
Accomplishing a particular deed and achieving a particular result-for a ritual, the symbolism within that process was more important instead.
After personally encountering the Personality of the Swirl of the Root and witnessing Araya Souren being manipulated by the Counter Force, Roland became even more certain of this.
He rubbed his brow.
"Although my own gravity is already enough to resist and alter many things, it still cannot change the fact that gravity continues to bind my soul."
To Type-Moon itself, Roland counted as an outsider, but as he changed the world's course step by step, the people he influenced also became part of his own immense fate.
The fate one was born with and the fate one was given afterward were both invisible forms of gravity. Araya Souren falling one move short despite exhausting every effort was the best example.
No matter how much hope was created, people whose souls
