Among Shinjuku's skyscrapers, the Sumitomo Building had always been the tallest. Looking down at the lights from a height of two hundred and ten meters gave the illusion of gazing out over a sea of stars.
Of course, there could be no stars here. Everything was man-made, and in terms of function, no different from a bonfire illuminating the night. It was hardly scenery worth lingering over.

"You're the first Heroic Spirit I've met who thinks so highly of the modern age. Even the friendlier ones only call it passable. Most Servants think this era is dull."
Standing beside Solomon, Roland looked at him with interest and smiled.
Roland and Solomon had settled into their partnership smoothly. This was not because the king was particularly tolerant, but because he had no personal emotions at all. During his initial conversations with Roland, whatever questions arose, he answered only in a stiff voice and with a placid expression, as though he were merely a machine.
That was not exactly wrong, either. He existed as a king bestowed upon humanity by God and lived only by revelation. If God told him to lead humanity, he would lead them. Since Roland had summoned him, he would bring Roland victory. Beyond that, not a trace of human sensibility or selfhood could be seen in King Solomon. If he fought in that state, he would presumably bring this Holy Grail War to a crushing end.
Without wavering, without hesitation, without even the mutual appreciation between heroes, Solomon would single-handedly squander his omniscient, omnipotent power on these low-level battles.
This was not Roland's subjective impression, but a judgment
