Roland's thoughts drifted.
The Key of All Spirits' transfers had finally changed from miracles he could not even perceive at first into something he could now trace.
Within his infinitely stretched sense of time, he felt as though he were traveling upstream through an endless ocean, with nothing left in his perception but a curtain of strange radiance.
There was no distinction between heaven and earth. Truths and miracles lay within easy reach, and merely being illuminated by that faint light made Roland feel all manner of inexplicable knowledge filling his mind.
But Roland had no inclination to sort through it. He merely watched the waves being churned up.
Every ripple was a direct response to collisions between the gaps separating worlds, a collision and friction between truths and rules.
Some were powerful, others weak, but in this ocean, strength was the most insignificant of distinctions.
"So this is where worlds reside?"

If he acted recklessly merely because he had escaped a universe, he would most likely become part of this ocean's mass.
And so, to avoid that, the second hurdle was finding a reality to sustain him.
Roland looked at the Key of All Spirits enveloping him, riding the wind and waves through the ocean with effortless ease, and once again raised his assessment of its theoretical standing and potential limits.
Without this shortcut, his current self could only rely on luck to survive here.
The further he traveled, the shorter his sense
