"...What a surprise. Nothing happened at all."
The Mystic Eyes Collection Train had been stopped for an hour and a half, yet everything remained normal.
Roland had not anticipated this situation.
After all, Lorelei Barthomeloi had been so unequivocal when she left, and the train had happened to stop at precisely that moment.
No matter how he looked at it, a storm had seemed imminent, with fighting liable to break out at any moment.
Yet after leaving the carriage, that Marshal of Magic had made no commotion at all.
The staff operating the train had not been affected in the slightest, and figures could be seen coming and going everywhere.
This left Roland, who had already prepared to enjoy the show, a little disappointed. After all-
"If they don't fight, didn't I stir things up for nothing?"
Although he did intend to bestow a blessing upon Caleb, Roland had deliberately chosen that moment to take his Mystic Eyes in public to escalate the conflict and see what the train's organizers were made of, as well as what Lorelei Barthomeloi intended.
"You really can't stand to see the world at peace, can you? And you're supposed to be a Saint..."
Even Altrouge Brunestud could not resist commenting on this approach of harming others without benefiting himself, acting purely for amusement.
"This too is recorded in the Gospel of Matthew-I came not to bring peace on earth, but a sword."
But Roland remained thoroughly unabashed.
"Sometimes, rather than maintaining a false balance, it's better to tear everything down and start over, destroying it completely before rebuilding."
"Besides, sainthood is a rather complicated attribute to begin with. You can't generalize. If an illiterate peasant girl and a queen of feminist boxing can both be Saints, why can't I?"
"...What a sophist."
