The black-and-red greatsword, reeking of sulfur, swept sideways straight at Luo Shu.
The heavy, powerful blow sent the air screaming shrilly.
Yet faced with that powerful blow, Luo Shu seemed frozen, making no move at all.
That very lack of movement put Mapa on his guard, and his swinging greatsword skimmed past the tip of Luo Shu's nose by a hair.
"This is..."
At the sight, an indescribable look of astonishment appeared on Mapa's hideous face with its six compound eyes.
"I misjudged the distance? How could I possibly make a mistake like that?"
"I believe I told you."
A warm smile appeared on Luo Shu's face.
"Our styles actually mesh quite well."
"Styles?" Hearing that word, Mapa belatedly realized something. "Poison?"
Luo Shu looked at Mapa with a smile, showing no intention of answering.
Knowing his enemy was a demon, how could he possibly have come unprepared? An airborne toxin specifically targeting demons was one of his preparations.
After all, poisoning someone was simply far too convenient for a Wind Mage.
"You actually poisoned me?"
For a moment, Mapa struggled to understand.
"How is that possible? A toxin effective against demons-shouldn't something like that only be in the hands of those Demon Hunters? And it has to be prepared on-site. Could it be..."
Suddenly, Mapa grew alert. He warily scanned his surroundings and shouted:
"That's it! You're here, aren't you!"
"Sharon the Pure!!"
"To think you'd actually work with SDS!!"
Mapa's shouts echoed through the cavern, but to his surprise, there was no sign of that familiar woman appearing.
Just then, Mapa suddenly realized something and abruptly lowered his head to look at the arm holding his greatsword.
