Inside the pitch-black mausoleum.
The eye-like Beyonder Characteristic on the floor glimmered faintly. A pale shaft of crimson moonlight fell from the ceiling, landing squarely on it.
Not far from directly opposite the black stone throne, several pieces of clothing arranged into a human shape gradually swelled. The cuffs rounded out, and the collar slowly rose. Soon, hands emerged from the sleeves, feet kicked aside the troublesome tall boots, and a person "grew" out of the pile of clothes.
Thump, thump. A powerful heartbeat sounded. "Bernadette" sat up from the floor, smoothed her waist-length chestnut hair, and checked her arms, legs, and body. Then she stepped lightly over the tangled vines on the floor with bare feet, approaching the black throne.
"Daddy."
"Bernadette" still retained her usual composure, but had become considerably livelier. She stopped before the steps to the throne and looked up with some anticipation at the motionless shadow seated upon it.
"Mother gave birth to me again. Will you tell me a bedtime story this time?"
The distorted laws suddenly ran wild, warping the distance between them and sending Bernadette thousands of meters away, yet unable to expel this shell without any Beyonder Characteristics from the mausoleum.
Before long, this child would walk up to the shadow again, using the same figure, the same appearance, and the same memories to coax him into submitting to the Mother Goddess of Depravity and reuniting with his daughter.
