"Why is their resistance so halfhearted?"
In Berens, with the city center almost within reach, Dunn instead found himself in a quandary. "What's wrong with Prince Grove? Is he an idiot? What exactly is he doing? Why hasn't he shown himself at all? Has he given up just because his Sonia Sea navy can't get here?"
Was he simply not resisting, or was he hiding something dangerous and felt resistance was unnecessary?
After hesitating for a moment, he steeled himself and established a Mind Link.
"Traynor, I'm about to attack the administrative district in the city center. I suspect there's something wrong with Prince Grove's head. If there isn't, he might have a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact..."
"If I can't beat him, remember to come get me!!!"
"You obtained the Sun God Bird and the Sacred Radiance Stone? Thank you very much. Please hand them over to His Excellency Saint Tenebrous. I'll collect them in person."
Ms. D, who was still on the Southern Continent waiting for news from Klein, finally received the letter Reinette Tinekerr brought. After seeing its contents, she happily read it twice, praising Mr. X's connections and abilities inwardly as she sat down at her desk and prepared to write a reply.
She already knew that Mr. X's powerful messenger would only deliver letters for gold coins. To save time, she generally didn't summon her, instead giving Reinette Tinekerr another ten gold coins directly so she would wait until she had finished replying before leaving.
"A messenger really is convenient..."
As she wrote, Ms. D couldn't help imagining having an assistant like that herself. Unfortunately, her family's resources were directed entirely toward her two older brothers. Neither of them had a messenger yet, so it was even less possible for her, the third daughter.
