Can I really come into contact with the Moon's Uniqueness?
As the Moon's Uniqueness drew closer, Lilith's heart pounded, but she could not show the slightest fear. She maintained her gentle, beautiful smile, radiant with maternal love.
Her condition had only just stabilized, and the Moon was displaying so much initiative. By any reasonable measure, she should not have actively made contact-but Lilith was truly worried. She feared dying now because she was not strong enough, and she feared losing control and being erased on the spot after failing to accommodate the Uniqueness, or becoming an incarnation, a daughter, of the "Mother" on the moon.
All three possibilities looked utterly terrible. Lilith could not say whether having her self erased and becoming the Mother Goddess's "daughter" from the bottom of her heart would be worse than simply being killed. In any case, she did not want to die.
At that thought, Lilith's outstretched hand showed signs of drawing back.
For a moment, she wanted to flee immediately, turn around and run. The Astral World was not sealed off, after all; she could easily leave the battlefield.
She had not had many opportunities to contribute in the first place. At most, she had restored Leodero's condition and removed negative effects. This made Lilith feel she could escape, taking her Sanguine and believers with her. She might not live for very long that way. The vindictive Sefirah Incarnation might catch up and kill her, or the Mother Goddess might capture her when she entered the cosmos... but at least she would not die right now. She would not have to face three choices of death.
Otherwise, whatever choice she made now would merely change the way she died!
