The opponent's first Pokémon... would most likely be Gengar.
His side had plenty of special tanks. Florges had extremely high Special Defense, and Blissey was also a special tank under normal circumstances. There was no need to brute-force his way through with a Psychic-type.
Gengar resisted Fairy-type moves, and its Poison-type moves could deal with Lilligant, the fast Sunny Day special attacker.
Lopunny's Normal-type and Fighting-type attacks were ineffective against Gengar, while Gengar could fight using moves other than Ghost-type ones.
Mega Lopunny had the Ability "Scrappy," which let it hit Ghost-types, but if he could pull off Mega Evolution under Ni Shang's one-on-one pressure, he would probably pass the assessment outright.
If Gengar really did face Blissey, Normal-types and Ghost-types were largely immune to each other's damage, so Gengar could maneuver around it and stall.
The opponent already had a level advantage. If things dragged on to a 2v2, Ni Shang would have an even greater advantage.
However, another reason Ni Shang would most likely lead with Gengar was that she did not know Shen Qi had hidden Porygon.
With this many Normal-types around, she would have to reconsider sending Gengar out.
The countdown ended. As Shen Qi opened his Poké Ball, Ni Shang tossed hers forward. A complex array of streaking Type Energy swept toward him; anyone who did not know better might have thought she had summoned a large number of Pokémon.
With so much Type Energy interfering, all made visible by her Style Technique, it was impossible to tell at a glance which streak of energy was the Pokémon she had summoned.
"Dodo! Shadow Ball!"
Whatever Pokémon it was, Shadow Ball could hit it. Even hitting Mandibuzz would not be a loss.
As Dodo traced the Skill Pathways, Shen Qi ran forward around the field, closing
