Honestly, watching the match from security's perspective was every bit as comfortable as sitting in the competitors' team seats.

Qian Hui's opponent was a teacher they didn't know. Those from Pokémon High School had no way to judge the opponent's combat power, so it all came down to Qian Hui herself.
She excelled at raising Pokémon and brewing coffee. Battling clearly wasn't Qian Hui's specialty.
But she had experience competing in Regular Races with her Pokémon to supplement her income, which meant she had arena experience.

Shen Qi knew her Pokémon lineup. The hidden one was Furret.
They were all Pokémon commonly found throughout the Sevii Islands.
Her opponent...
Tentacruel, Fearow, Seaking, and Onix.
Those were all common Pokémon too, but the opponent had one more Pokémon, which was already a tremendous advantage.
It wasn't that Qian Hui had no other Pokémon. The ones she had recently adopted were simply too young. Revealing them wouldn't fool her opponent into banning them, and getting beaten up onstage could easily harm a young Pokémon psychologically.
That was why she had only brought her four mainstays.
