By then, Yun Ying had vanished from her seat and appeared a short distance away.
She stood tall, her slender, graceful figure hazy and beautiful. With her back to everyone, she seemed to be gazing toward the horizon, possessing an ethereal freedom that transcended the mortal world.
"What is your Dao?"
Suddenly, she glanced back lightly. Her amethyst eyes rippled like water, their shimmering light tinting even heaven and earth with purple.
Shi Hao met Yun Ying's gaze and knew perfectly well that she was asking him. Unable to think of an answer, he asked her instead, "And yours? What is your Dao?"
"My Dao..." Yun Ying withdrew her gaze and began walking out of the imperial palace.
Yet as she moved with light, lotus-like steps, everyone heard the clear ringing of swords echo softly through their minds.
They could see sword blossoms condensing beneath Yun Ying's feet, translucent and flawless, as though carved from crystal.
Even beside her, shimmering sword blossoms formed one after another, sparkling with rosy light. Flames seemed to burn within some buds, lightning flashed within others, and snowflakes drifted through still others...
Everyone's eyes widened at the sight. What precious technique was this, manifesting so many different powers of heaven and earth without even revealing any runes?
"Big Sister," Yun Ying called while everyone was still staring in a daze.
Yun Xi immediately snapped out of it, then roused Yin Xue and the others and hurried after Yun Ying. The birthday banquet had already ended.
"I'm beginning to admire this girl from the Celestial Clan. To have already comprehended her own Dao at her age is extraordinarily rare," Little Tower exclaimed in admiration for the first time.
Among Yun Ying's peers, there probably wasn't another like her. Even Shi Hao fell short of that standard.
Given Little Tower's breadth of experience, such a person might not be found even in the Upper Realm, let alone this lower realm. Her future was destined to be incomparably brilliant, dazzling an entire era.
"How does she compare to Demoness and Yue Chan?" Shi Hao asked.
"Purely in terms of cultivation, there's simply no comparison. Which person who has comprehended their own Dao isn't a dazzling genius, supreme beneath heaven, their radiance bright enough to illuminate an entire era? This girl from the Celestial Clan is still a little immature, but as long as she doesn't die young, her achievements will be absolutely terrifying," Little Tower answered with certainty.
Hearing Little Tower's assessment, Shi Hao couldn't help drawing a sharp breath inwardly.
At that point, Little Tower suddenly laughed, a teasing note in the laughter. "Well? Feeling a little tempted?"
"Nonsense. Am I that kind of person?" Shi Hao flatly denied it.
"I'm afraid she might not even think you're worth a second glance," Little Tower teased.
Shi Hao's face twitched. He remembered the way Yun Ying looked at him, always calm and unruffled, with an ethereal air, as though she held no one in her eyes. Yet it wasn't arrogance. It was very strange.
This was also something that puzzled Shi Hao about Yun Ying. What was she always looking at?
"Little Tower, what's her cultivation level?" Something occurred to Shi Hao, and he asked.
"The late stage of the Inscription Realm," Little Tower replied.
"What? The late stage of the Inscription Realm? How did she advance so quickly?"
Shi Hao was utterly shocked. He hadn't noticed anything in the North Sea, since everyone had been suppressed to the Spirit Transformation Realm. Who would have thought that in such a short time, her cultivation would have reached the late stage of the Inscription Realm?
Even Shi Hao found it a little frightening. At this rate, wouldn't she soon break through to the Array Formation Realm?
"Quickly? I don't think there's anything quick about it. If she can maintain that pace after becoming a god, then you can call it quick. You'll understand when the time comes," Little Tower said with unruffled composure, completely ignoring Shi Hao's astonished expression.
By then, Yun Ying and her party had returned to the courtyard.
Before long, the chariot drove out of the courtyard and left the Stone Kingdom Imperial Capital. It soon passed beyond the city, rose into the air, and headed back to Heavenly God Mountain.
After returning to Heavenly God Mountain, Yun Ying immersed herself in cultivation, shutting her ears to everything beyond her window.
Several months quietly passed.
Beside the Spiritual Liquid Lake, a graceful figure clad in purple sat cross-legged, at one with heaven and earth. Countless great Dao symbols shone around her, radiant as a sky full of stars.
Sword notes rang out in a deafening metallic chorus. Endless sword light surged within Yun Ying's body like a sword sea, its sword intent rising to the heavens, as though it could cleave the sky and annihilate the earth.
More than that, her flesh, bone marrow, and internal organs all transformed into sword light.
It was as though her entire being had become a sword, its edge fully bared and its sword intent surging without end, seemingly capable of cutting down the stars of the nine heavens, extinguishing the sun and moon, and tearing apart the vast universe.
This was not merely the evolution and application of runes, but comprehension of the sword Dao. Her essence, energy, and spirit became a sword; her body, mind, and Dao arts united as one, merging with supreme sword Dao mysteries to turn her body into a sword.
As time passed, Yun Ying's figure grew increasingly indistinct. Purple divine radiance shimmered, and her human outline slowly disappeared, replaced by a divine sword that reached toward the heavens. Sword energy surged hundreds of zhang across, obliterating the void.
She had transformed into a sword!
At that moment, the void within a hundred-zhang radius shattered, unable to withstand that overwhelmingly powerful sword energy.
Yun Ying's figure could no longer be seen. In her place stood only a translucent divine sword blazing with purple light. Great Dao symbols surrounded it, transforming into tiny, exquisite sword Dao stars that radiated terrifying sword intent and sharpness.
Space trembled, and the formation lit up. Countless symbols surged skyward, concealing these fluctuations and stabilizing the void. Otherwise, this entire stretch of space would have been destroyed by that terrifying sword energy.
Just then, an elderly figure appeared. It was Yun Canghai, and he stared ahead in astonishment.
"Is that... Little Ying?"
Yun Canghai stared at the divine sword, uncertain and bewildered. If he hadn't sensed that familiar aura, he would never have believed it.
As a Venerable, how could he fail to recognize that this was not merely the result of evolving runes? Her entire being had become a sword.
A body of flesh and blood had transformed into a sword, with even her spirit merging into it. The sight left Yun Canghai deeply shaken. He had never heard of anything like this.
Although he knew Yun Ying had forged her own path, he had never expected something so outrageous. It utterly defied common sense.
Yet facing the sword Yun Ying had become, Yun Canghai also sensed a trace of danger. That was what he found most inconceivable.
Judging by her aura, Yun Ying should have already broken through to the Array Formation Realm. Yet the aura she emitted at that realm actually made even a Venerable like him feel threatened.
"What cultivation method is this, exactly?"
Yun Canghai narrowed his eyes. He couldn't see through it at all. He only knew that this method was powerful and terrifying, far more formidable than simply evolving runes to a profound level.
Still, this method was a little too shocking, beyond anything one could imagine. Never mind him-even a god would probably be startled by it.
