After three days in the recording studio, the brand-new official theme song for the Indigo League tournament was hot off the press.
With the Indigo League about to begin, "I Got Pokémon!", sung by Young Master Mao himself, became an instant hit throughout the Pokémon League.
On every street and in every alley, people could hear:
"Whether in fire, in water, in grass, or in the forest~
In the soil, in the clouds, or under that girl's skirt...
Though it's very, very,
Very, very hard,
I'm going to catch it!"
Just how popular was the song? Even Ash could hum a few lines!
But Gary himself had no time to pay attention to any of that now.
Young Master Mao was at the harbor for New Island.
After recording the theme song, Gary had received an invitation delivered by Dragonite.
"I'm on New Island. If you're my friend, come find me."
The mighty Mewtwo's way with words really was... short and to the point!
Even so, Gary had come. He had made up an excuse and arrived alone at the harbor for New Island.
Again, this was Mewtwo, after all-the cherished dream of countless Pokémon fans!
Looking at the storm-shrouded waters around New Island, Gary did not act rashly.
A downpour was far too much excitement for Charizard, and Gary did not want to take the risk.
"Executive! We're here!" Just as Gary was considering asking Lorelei to lend him a Pidgeot, a small sampan came rowing over.
Looking at the Team Rocket Trio dressed in Northern European fashion, Gary's mouth twitched. "What are you three up to now?"
