At the Slateport City entrance to Cycling Road, Gary and the others rented one tandem bicycle and two single bicycles, ready to head up onto the overpass.

"Just a reminder. Some biker gangs on the road will challenge you.

"If your Pokémon aren't very strong, please keep your heads down, and they won't bother you," the middle-aged attendant advised them thoughtfully.

"Pfft..." Brendan laughed at a rather inappropriate moment.

Even the shy Kimarō nearly laughed aloud, his shoulders shaking as he lowered his head.

"Um, ma'am, do you usually watch Pokémon League matches?" Gary asked curiously.

"No. All that fighting back and forth isn't very interesting." The woman waved a hand.

"Oh, never mind, then." Gary smiled and shook his head.

"You two little brats, listen up!" Young Master Mao shouted.

"Yes, Teacher!" The two boys immediately stood at attention.

"Keep those heads high and those eyes sharp. Don't let a single one get away. Understood?" Young Master Mao flashed a devilish smile.

"Understood!"

"What do you do when you run into a high-level Trainer?"

"Let Teacher get the first kill!"

"Very good~" Young Master Mao nodded.

"By order of the Teacher!" The two boys' eyes gleamed.

"I told you boys not to watch those Unova gangster dramas in your spare time." Lorelei smiled fondly.

"It's fine. Let's go, children." Young Master Mao flicked his coat and tugged down the new baseball cap on his head.

Past the bicycle rental shop lay the flat cycling path.

Gary and Lorelei shared a bicycle, while the two boys each mounted their own.

"Yahoo!" Speeding bicycles and people making strange cries were everywhere on the cycling path not far away.

Gary placed Eevee-chan in the basket and smiled. "Off we go, then."

"Vee~ (〝▼皿▼)~" Eevee-chan stared ahead with a vicious look.
