This was the small city where the remnants of the Holy Spirit Cult had chosen to hide themselves again. Unfortunately for them, they had vanished from the continent entirely before they could start anew.
Yet although the Holy Spirit Cult had indeed been destroyed, the soil that had given birth to it had never changed. Evil Soul Masters would not stop appearing simply because the Holy Spirit Cult no longer existed.
At that moment, in the center of a small town outside the city, a crowd of adults and children had gathered around a fairly spacious building. Judging by their clothing, they were all residents of the surrounding villages.
For these farming families, few events warranted such a fuss. Today, however, was one of those rare occasions: the martial soul awakening ceremony.
Huo Yuhao stood outside the crowd, using Spiritual Detection to sense the awakenings as he carefully observed the children whose martial souls were about to awaken.
Some were curious, others nervous, but undisguised excitement shone in all their eyes. At barely six years old, they did not yet understand how important their martial soul awakening would be to the rest of their lives.
Huo Yuhao swept his attention over the children one by one. He did not need to wait for the ceremony to officially begin to see the results.
Most of these children from farming families were ordinary people without the slightest fluctuation of soul power. The occasional one or two with faint fluctuations only had between half a rank and one rank.
Their parents did not dare hope that their children would awaken soul power and become Soul Masters someday. They would be satisfied as long as their martial souls were farming tools that could help with their work.
