There were actually quite a few food anime out there. Whether it was Food Wars!, where eating could make people's clothes burst off, or Restaurant to Another World, which told the stories of one customer after another, they were all very good food anime. Heath, however, felt that most of their dishes still fell within the realm of conventional cuisine. If he had to come up with a quintessential anime dish, he thought Toriko would be a good choice too, but the problem was that he did not have those magical ingredients.
Although he could exchange Customer Satisfaction for them through the Gourmet Pokédex, that was still a little too much trouble. So this time, Heath planned to take inspiration from Cooking Master Boy. Of its dishes, the Iceberg of Fresh Sea Bream was probably one that felt distinctly like anime while still being relatively easy to recreate.
This happened to be the season when sea bream migrated to spawn. Their flesh was not quite at its plumpest and tastiest yet, but it was still very good, so fresh sea bream could be found at the markets in Viridian City.
Heath simply had not had time to buy any earlier. Going to buy some now would work just as well.
Heath did not rush to the market. Instead, he first applied to the Anime Convention's organizers. Just as he had expected, once he explained his idea of making anime dishes, they agreed. He did have to pay a deposit, a booth fee, and the like, but for the quest reward, Heath paid without any hesitation.
Before buying the sea bream, Heath also made a point of buying a shirt and trousers, naturally modeled after Leon's outfit. Although the convention did not have a Leon cosplay costume, similar clothes would do.
