Going onstage to speak in front of so many people, and as a key figure at that, was something countless people dreamed of doing. They would even pay for the chance. What was more, this was the Technology Expo. If Cynthia delivered a few advertising lines up there, wouldn't that save a fortune in advertising fees? To other people, then, this speech of hers was the best thing in the world, worth paying hundreds of thousands or even a million or two for. Yet his girlfriend, on the contrary, seemed to really dislike giving speeches like this.
Heath rubbed his chin. He remembered that Cynthia was quite a dedicated Champion later on, strong and serious, and she probably put considerable care into League affairs as well. At present, Heath felt that the world's most distracted Champion was probably none other than Steven from the Hoenn Region. After all, Steven really loved digging for stones. Later, he had even felt that his duties as League Champion were holding him back from digging for stones, so he had simply given up his position as League Champion and gone off to dig. He could certainly be called the first of his kind in the League.
There was also Diantha, who was both a Champion and an idol and was similarly distracted from her duties. Compared with Steven, a Champion who was often impossible to find, though, Diantha probably counted as a dedicated Champion.
