Although Cinnabar Island had "island" in its name, judging purely by the built-up area, Heath felt calling it an unusual village would have been more appropriate. Still, perhaps because Cinnabar Island was going to be destroyed by a volcanic eruption, people had already begun moving away. When Heath arrived at the Officer Jenny Building on Cinnabar Island, he found it packed with people, most of whom were there to complete relocation paperwork. Fortunately, applications for vending permits and relocation paperwork had separate queues, so Heath soon obtained his vending permit.
"I can open for business anywhere?" Heath was a little surprised. When he had set up his stall in the past, he had usually been restricted to certain areas, and sometimes there had even been very strict requirements for its exact location. In Petalburg City, for example, he had needed to set up in a designated spot. He had never expected that after arriving on Cinnabar Island, he would be allowed to set up anywhere. He could even set up beside the Gym.
However, considering Cinnabar Island's unusual circumstances, Heath felt this did not seem particularly strange. After all, Cinnabar Island was practically a city on the verge of abandonment now. Many people were finding ways to leave this land, so doing business here probably was not easy. Officer Jenny, who had processed his vending permit earlier, had already told him as much. Heath did not particularly mind, though. All he wanted to learn about was Cinnabar Island's specialty ingredients. Given its geographical location, he thought those ingredients might mostly be seafood, although there could certainly be exceptions.
"Master, should we set up beside the Gym?" May suggested. In her view, going beside the Gym would definitely be the most worthwhile option. Business was very good around Gyms, after all.
