The rite of petitioning for the title of True Lord (part two) (7,100 characters, presented with wishes for a happy New Year to all readers~)

Amid lilting music, the True Lord's ceremonial procession entered the mountain in order.

There was a palace on the mountain, named Shangzhen Palace.

Originally, only a small hermitage had stood on this site. It had neither plaque nor name, and outsiders called it Yaoshan Hermitage. The True Lord had built it as temporary quarters from which to direct the work of making the Southern Wastes fertile. Later, he lectured on the Dao here, teaching the secret essentials of union with the Dao. More and more river earls and forest officials came to listen, and sometimes the True Lord also discussed the management of mountains and waters with them here. Thus, it became an important place serving both as a venue for preaching and as a hub for deliberations. A small hermitage alone no longer sufficed.

And so, the disciples who attended his lectures joined forces to expand the small hermitage into a Daoist monastery, considerably larger than before. They asked the True Lord to name it. After some thought, he said they should still call it "Listening to the Land Monastery." After all, what everyone was doing now was "listening to the earth's ailments and treating the earth's afflictions." Moreover, the secret essentials of union with the Dao that he taught were, in essence, also about "listening to the earth's principles and seeking the earth's truth." The True Lord said this had, in fact, been his original intention when he built Listening to the Land Monastery on Rotten Peach Mountain. Now that more people were participating, discussing the Dao and listening to the earth, he was very happy.

Thus, the monastery built around the small hermitage was named Listening to the Earth Monastery. To distinguish it from the one on Rotten Peach Mountain, everyone called them "Peach Mountain Listening to
