For over a month, Jiang Hao had lived with extreme caution.
Fortunately, no one had come looking for him. Even Liu Xingchen had not visited, nor had he come to tell him what had happened afterward with Jin Zhouheng.
He kept feeling that Liu Xingchen was busy.
Otherwise, he would surely have come by.
Unless his attitude had changed and he planned to watch the show some other way.
Jiang Hao had no control over that. The other undercover agents had not come by either.
So this period had been relatively peaceful. Others had also learned that he had caught a spirit beast.
No one had come to claim it.
Nor had anyone appeared to deliberately take the spirit beast away.
That was why he had safely collected the golden legend.
Now, Jiang Hao eagerly opened his panel and looked at the changes.
[Name: Jiang Hao] [Age: Twenty] [Cultivation: Early Golden Core] [Cultivation methods: Heavenly Sound, Hundred Turns; Primordial Chaos Heart Scripture] [Divine abilities: Nine-Turn Substitute Death (Unique), Daily Appraisal, Clear Mind, Pure Heart] [Blood essence: 29/100 (Available for cultivation)] [Cultivation: 32/100 (Available for cultivation)] [Divine ability: 1/3 (Unavailable)] [Golden legend: 2/2 (Available)]
"My cultivation and blood essence are making steady progress. Although it's slower than before, it's much faster than when I first started."
In a little over half a year, his blood essence and cultivation should reach their full amounts. Then he could try advancing to middle Golden Core.
Perhaps in a few more years, his cultivation would surpass Liu Xingchen's.
Senior Sister Mingyi was currently at early Golden Core too. Although she was still dangerous, the danger had diminished considerably.
If her identity as an undercover agent was exposed and she tried to attack him, he should be able to take her down reliably by finding an opportunity for a surprise attack.
When he lacked certainty, a surprise attack was still the safer approach.
After confirming that he could claim the golden legend, Jiang Hao got up and washed his hands.
Like the purple-gold legend, it would give him a random item.
It might be something useful, or it might be a chicken rib-too meager to enjoy, yet a shame to discard.
A golden legend was so hard to come by that getting a chicken rib would be a real waste.
After washing his hands, Jiang Hao went to the main room, sat cross-legged, and chose to claim it.
In an instant, he felt himself standing within endless chaos. As he stared in astonishment, something stirred within it.
A crisp sound rang out ahead.
Clang!
Something cleaved through the chaos. Then the chaos receded, revealing a streak of saber light within it.
When Jiang Hao could see clearly, he discovered a silver-white saber descending from high above, cleaving the chaos as it fell.
Another crisp sound rang out. The saber fell straight down before Jiang Hao and embedded itself in the ground.
The instant it landed, a sense of immense weight washed over him, and powerful saber intent spread in every direction.
It crushed the chaos.
Instinctively, Jiang Hao grasped the hilt and pulled the saber free.
A rumble sounded. As the long saber left the ground, all the chaos vanished.
Coming back to his senses, Jiang Hao looked around. Apart from the room he had been in at the start, nothing else remained.
Yet the saber was in his hand.
Holding it at that moment, he felt an urge to cleave open the heavens.
Powerful saber intent surged like vast, towering waves.
It made Jiang Hao feel that he could split the heavens with one slash and slay an early Golden Core cultivator with another. Even against someone at middle Golden Core, he dared to clash head-on.
Not only did he dare-he even looked forward to it a little.
Feeling all this, Jiang Hao sighed.
Here we go again.
This saber was far too extraordinary. It had inflated his confidence once more.
Upon closer inspection, he found that its overall length was about three chi and three cun, with a blade roughly two and a half chi long and three centimeters wide.
The blade was silver-white and thick, with faint patterns running along its entire length.
"This saber looks good. Just holding it, I can feel a sharp, biting saber intent. I wonder what its origins are."
Curious, Jiang Hao activated his appraisal.
[Poem Whisper: Primordial Heaven Saber, forged within chaos. It bears the essence of the primordial beginning and the power to cleave open the heavens. It can serve as a lifebound magical treasure and grow alongside its owner.]
Poem Whisper?
The saber's name sounded rather feminine.
But the name did not matter. This saber truly was extraordinary.
Jiang Hao had now learned the Seven Forms of the Heavenly Saber, so using a saber as his lifebound magical treasure was certainly an option.
More importantly, he had no better magical treasure.
No matter how much money he earned to buy one, it would fall far short of this Primordial Heaven Saber.
Before refining it, Jiang Hao wanted to see how comfortably it handled.
He turned his gaze toward the rabbit in the courtyard.
The rabbit had been hanging there for two months and had already settled down, especially after its intelligence awakened and it understood its circumstances.
Now, it suspected that hanging there was simply the normal way to live.
It neither cried nor fussed, patiently waiting for someone to feed it.
Jiang Hao did not mind that.
Instead, he gently swung Poem Whisper, and sharp, biting saber intent surged forth.
It swept across.
The rabbit, which had been staring at Jiang Hao, wet itself in fright.
It felt as though its head was about to part from its body.
With a thud, it fell.
It landed on the ground, its legs giving way as it dropped to its knees.
Only the rope had snapped.
Seeing the rabbit frightened out of its wits, Jiang Hao shook his head.
Then he looked at the saber in his hand. It felt exceptionally comfortable to wield.
He drew the saber into his dantian and began refining it.
Although he now had the heavenly saber, Jiang Hao did not intend to reveal it. He would keep it as a hidden trump card.
So he still needed to buy an ordinary magical treasure to conceal it from prying eyes.
For now, the Half-Moon Blade was enough. He could replace it whenever it cracked.
After all, he had no spirit stones left.
"Still, I need to see what's going on with this rabbit."
After awakening its bloodline twice, the rabbit had become much smarter, but that was not the most important thing.
Most importantly, Jiang Hao wanted to see whether the rabbit could continue awakening its bloodline. If it could, he would be able to obtain another Golden Bubble.
The next day.
Watching the rabbit, which was not quite accustomed to walking, Jiang Hao began his appraisal.
