Background / History

According to Daily Appraisal, the original Heavenly Fragrance Dao Flower emerged at the beginning of primordial chaos. After endless ages, heaven and earth became distinct, and the flower bore fruit and shed seeds. The specimen planted by Jiang Hao grows from one of those seeds 13.

Hong Yuye places the seed in Jiang Hao’s care to test his loyalty and tempt hidden infiltrators into revealing themselves. Bai Zhi believes the flower is supposedly the source of the sect master’s strength; her own temptation to keep the seed makes her realize that she, too, is being tested 8.

Jiang Hao recognizes the flower’s name from Yun Ruo’s appraisal and understands that cultivating it makes him bait. Nevertheless, he plants it and replaces his courtyard’s enclosing wall to block the view from outside. Seven days later, its germination produces a spiritual disturbance that burns the talisman he is making, but does not extend beyond the courtyard 6 13.

Hong Yuye later tells Jiang Hao that the flower belongs to her and that she will take it when it blooms and bears fruit. She requires him to protect it, keep her existence secret, and accept future inspections. Jiang Hao does not recognize her as the sect master, leaving him worried that satisfying her could offend Bai Zhi or the flower’s presumed owner 16 17 21.

Successfully growing the flower earns Jiang Hao a piece of the Nine Heavens Battle Armor set, bestowed by Hong Yuye through Bai Zhi. Before leaving for the Demon Grotto, he sets up a basic formation rather than entrusting his plants to another person, fearing theft or danger to a substitute caretaker. On returning after more than two months, he finds the flower undisturbed and bearing two blue bubbles 21 28 33.

Appearance

• Seed: Half black and half white, approximately the size of a quail’s egg. It briefly glows, then looks relatively ordinary 8.
• Sprout: Small, with two tender leaves; it retains this appearance after Jiang Hao’s Demon Grotto mission 14 34.
• Fragrance: Emits a faint scent that refreshes Jiang Hao’s heart and soul 14.

Purple-Gold Reward

• Germination produces the first purple-gold bubble Jiang Hao encounters, granting Purple-Gold Legend +1 13.
• Claiming the reward gives him the Primordial Chaos Heart Scripture, which generates primordial chaos purple qi to conceal his internal energy 14.
• The flower is not shown repeatedly producing this reward; Jiang Hao later considers another Heavenly Fragrance Dao Flower seed necessary to obtain another bubble above purple grade 35.

Cultivation and Vitality Bubbles

• The sprout supplies blue bubbles that Jiang Hao absorbs through his panel, substantially accelerating his cultivation 14 15 22.
• Its output changes after he reaches Golden Core; the reduced frequency is not described as the flower losing a growth stage 40.

• Planting: Bury the seed in soil and water it with one bowl of water once daily; it takes root and sprouts after seven days 13.

The flower’s obvious role as bait initially discourages infiltrators from acting openly. Its presence also complicates Jiang Hao’s escape plans: he fears that leaving while responsible for it would immediately draw attention from those watching him 25 47.
