Elsewhere, Lin Yi walked along the mountain road lined with camphor trees. After rounding several bends, he arrived directly in front of the Staff Passage.
"All right, if you're not throwing anything away, this is far enough." Tian Bufan caught Lin Yi by the shoulder, signaling him not to go any farther. "There really is something about the Staff Passage. Just coming here makes me feel waves of discomfort."
Lin Yi wholeheartedly agreed. "I feel it too. Who knows what's on Basement Level One of the Cafeteria? I keep feeling some terrifying aura drifting out of the Staff Passage."
"You can actually develop that kind of 'perception'?" Tian Bufan teased with a smile. "They say some animals can instinctively sense signs of danger and avoid approaching crises in advance. Looks like you're catching up to them."
Lin Yi pursed his lips helplessly. "I'm serious."
"So am I," Tian Bufan said. His gaze settled on Wei Shan, and the smile slowly faded from his lips. "Something really is wrong."
Up ahead, Wei Shan soon reached the trash can, but then suddenly stopped moving, as though something had caught his attention.
He had been about to throw away his jacket, but at some point he froze as if petrified. From their perspective, it looked as though someone had struck his pressure points just as he was about to toss it.
Lin Yi's heart jolted. Having experienced this himself, he instantly understood Wei Shan's predicament. This was exactly what had happened to him yesterday at noon!
"This is bad. It's not that Wei Shan won't throw it away-he can't! I'll go help him!"
"Lao Lin!" Tian Bufan tried to stop him, but Lin Yi had already rushed over.
"Don't worry, I've got experience!" Lin Yi's voice came from ahead. "Stay back for now."
