Mu Daxian was shrouded in mystery, but picking a few individual clues out of that mystery revealed that he knew Boss, had once worked as a dorm supervisor for a time, and had even spoken with the Night Watchman and learned some Admonitions.
Those clues had originally been difficult to connect. But after Lin Yi personally witnessed a Grinning Angel being given tangible form by the Old Kerosene Lamp, and a dorm supervisor being stripped out of it, the scattered puzzle pieces seemed to have found their framework. When he placed those clues into that framework, he arrived at a conjecture.
Mu Daxian had encountered a Gray Fog Invasion after enrolling and met Lao Mo back then. Later, for some unknown reason, he had become a dorm supervisor and followed the path from dorm supervisor to Grinning Angel. Ultimately, he had naturally been "beaten back into his original form" in the Gymnasium, then gone to Basement Level One beneath it...
As for how exactly he had become an art student, or what he had experienced between the Gymnasium and the Art Building, that remained unknown.
