Lin Yi fell silent for a moment. Then, seemingly struck by some thought, his brow suddenly relaxed. He moved a few steps aside with his tray, then took his own empty backpack off his back...
He unzipped the backpack and began putting the tomatoes inside one by one. He was rather put off by the tomatoes that had touched the food, so he left those out.
The eerie smile on the Green Apron Chef's face stiffened slightly. Its neck stretched forward a little like a turtle's, and for the first time, an emotion entirely at odds with its underlying logic appeared in its hollow, lifeless eyes-confusion.
But it still mechanically reached into the front of its uniform and slowly pulled out a tomato.
When Lin Yi finished packing away the tomatoes, he turned around to find that the Green Apron Chef actually had another tomato ready in its hand.
"Hiss..." Lin Yi sucked in a breath and leaned back in a tactical retreat. Before he could properly marvel at the Green Apron Chef's "user-friendly" mechanism, he reached out, took the tomato from its hand, and silently stuffed it into his backpack.
The Green Apron Chef was utterly stunned by Lin Yi's godlike grab. If there had been a referee present, it would surely have raised its hand in a divine appeal and shouted that Lin Yi was cheating. But before it could muster its limited intelligence to consider the problem, its mechanism drove it to keep pulling out tomatoes.
It pulled out another two tomatoes this way, both of which Lin Yi confiscated. When it tried again, however, it could not pull out another no matter what it did.
