His words had turned into Admonitions. Did that mean he, too, had undergone some change even he knew nothing about?
But... was this a coincidence?
Or... an inevitability?
Or was it that he had encountered so much Transcendence lately that everything looked transcendent to him?
It was like looking at too much leg-no, looking at too many clouds in the sky, then subconsciously imagining them as animals.
Had he merely felt a resemblance, and then his cognition had matched it on its own?
He was unsure.
So he settled his mind again and flipped through the pages with a rustling sound.
Gradually, he seemed to enter that bizarre state again. He saw floating words, saw those Mystical Runes that resembled Admonitions.
In a daze, he began hearing other sounds.
Amid that rustling, which sounded both like waves and like turning pages, he seemed to hear the clanking of swaying iron chains...
He heard distant songs...
["Lin Yi, oh, Lin Yi... where will you go..."]
["Lin Yi, oh, Lin Yi... how far can you go..."]
This was the Broken Sculpture's song. It no longer felt as horrifying as it had the first time he heard it, and he even looked up at the ceiling with practiced ease.
The moment he looked up, he was almost face-to-face with the Broken Sculpture's rather chilling face.
The Broken Sculpture stretched its half-face and sang hoarsely:
["Come back, come back..."]
["I await you amid the wasteland..."]
["You know my form and name..."]
["You know my authority and power..."]
Suddenly, the classroom ceiling was covered in Broken Sculptures, all singing the same song:
["Lin Yi... oh, Lin Yi..."]
["Destiny is a ring formed by Ouroboros... round and round, back to the beginning..."]
["Lin Yi... oh, Lin Yi..."]
["When the Black Moon Withers..."]
["Sing my name aloud..."]
