Lin Yi listened in utter silence.
He had guessed a tiny part of the sculpture connection, but compared with what Tian Bufan had worked out, his information was practically a joke.
Lin Yi opened his mouth. Anything he said felt pale and feeble beside Tian Bufan's deliberations, so all he could blurt out was a lousy remark:
"Ninety-nine percent... You might as well just say it's absolutely certain."
"A hundred percent would be too arrogant," Tian Bufan said disdainfully. "It won't be too late to draw a conclusion once I've seen it myself."
He stood up, patted his clothes, and started gathering a change of clothes.
The sound of running water from Kuai Hongji's side had stopped.
"Oh, Lao Lin. Based on my observations today, I think there should be a transformation pathway between Art Students and sculptures."
"That pathway should be: 'normal' Art Student-'abnormal' Art Student-Nonhuman Classmate-sculpture."
"Some of the observable traits those Nonhuman Classmates display fall somewhere between abnormal Art Students and sculptures."
"When we were in the classroom yesterday, I saw their arms turn a bluish gray as they fought the Athlete Students, something like an incompletely formed plaster substance."
"In the darkness, they showed an agility and volatility unlike what they displayed in sunlight, and even demonstrated a degree of intelligence. Even the Athlete Students could only suppress them through superior numbers."
Lin Yi could only listen. The information wasn't difficult to take in, but as someone who was gradually accepting an abnormal worldview and constantly overwriting his cognition, he clearly still needed some time to digest it properly.
And to some extent, Tian Bufan's words gave him a preliminary understanding of "pathways."
If blood turned into tomato sauce, and tomato sauce turned into plaster.
Then a person turning into a sculpture didn't seem entirely unacceptable...
