He had absolutely no idea what was happening.

Utterly bewildered, he looked at the wounds covering his body and soon realized that he was about to die.
He looked ahead and saw only an indifferent figure, and the sword in that figure's hand.
It seemed to have struck, yet also seemed not to have struck.
