Lin Shisan saw Zi Yuner before lunch.
When she pushed the door open and came in, she was saying something to the maid beside her, a faint smile still on her face, as though they were discussing something pleasant. Seeing Lin Shisan sitting on a stone stool in the Courtyard, she paused slightly, but her smile deepened.
"You look well."
Zi Yuner walked up to Lin Shisan and looked him over.
The rippling seawater light filtering through the Dragon Palace's barrier was reflected in her deep-purple eyes.
They sparkled as though a handful of starlight had been crushed into them.
"Did you use the Magnetic Mountain?"
"I did."
Lin Shisan nodded honestly.
His fingertips unconsciously touched the spot where his Storage Ring sat. "I made a breakthrough while I was at it."
He was not at all surprised that Zi Yuner knew the Purple Sky Dragon King had given him the Magnetic Mountain.
After all, he was now practically a top-tier protected animal in the Dragon Palace.
Everything he ate or used, every meal and morsel, had to undergo strict scrutiny.
Zi Yuner's people had long since been stationed in the seemingly peaceful Guest Courtyard to prevent the Purple Sky Dragon King's people from probing him again.
Or even assassinating him.
Of course, there might also be a third wave of Dragonfolk, or a fourth, watching hungrily from the shadows.
An outsider from the Human Race like Lin Shisan becoming the Purple Sky Dragon Palace's Dragon Lord was bound to encroach on some people's interests.
And the Purple Sky Dragon King's probe had merely been the wave out in the open.
"You advanced in just half a day."
"As expected of the Human Race chosen by the dragon breath. But if my father finds out, he'll probably try another method."
