Geography
The continent was originally one continuous landmass. An unparalleled war ten thousand years before the main continental conflict shattered it into seven pieces, which retained their provincial names 518.
| Region | Position | Documented Features |
|---|---|---|
| Central Province | Center | Also called the Central Sacred Divine Province. The largest and strongest province, described as occupying nearly half the continent’s territory; later identified as the region with the richest natural energy 222 932. |
| Yan Province | South | Ranked in the lower-middle range for area and strength. Its center is permanently frozen, with temperatures increasing outward in concentric arcs 222 519 949. |
| Han Province | Northwest | Contains an extensive desert where Gu Chenfeng witnessed an ascetic monk seeking a breakthrough by approaching death 781 949. |
| Cloud Province | Southeast | Gu Chenfeng encountered a gu cultivator pursuing the Dao through poison 781 949. |
| Desolate Province | Southwest | One of the seven provincial continents 949. |
| Flame Province | East | Gu Chenfeng witnessed a Great Grandmaster artificer forging a divine weapon with Primordial Spirit fire 781 949. |
| Qi Province | North | Home to Snow God Palace and the Eternal Silence Ice Abyss 781 788 949. |
Notable Locations
- Four Symbols Snowfield — The frozen center of Yan Province, called the Northern Frozen Expanse by the Great Li Dynasty. Its newer name followed the Gu Clan’s migration there and revelations about its Four Symbols Divine Sect lineage 519.
- Halberd Mountain — Headquarters of the Seven Star Alliance and the site of its leadership meetings 705 749.
- Snow God Palace — Became the Seven Star Alliance’s Qi Province branch headquarters when its ancestor requested admission to the alliance 788.
- Ten Thousand Dragon Demon Cavern — Contains a spatial passage through which Gu Chenfeng accessed Tianxuan Continent 846.
- Five-Thunder Divine Mountain — Remained an unusual spatial node after the Saint-Seizing Land merged with the continent. Powerful visitors could largely avoid the continent’s legal suppression there as long as they did not act 934 956.
Planar Laws and Cultivation
Plane Laws
- Protection against overwhelming outsiders: During the ancient war, the Plane Laws manifested as heavenly punishment and forced an attacker’s power back through a spatial passage. The Four Great Experts inferred that beings above Saint Level could not act freely within the plane 839.
- Foundation of the ancient seals: The seals imprisoning the invaders borrowed the continent’s planar power. Their effectiveness therefore depended on the strength and stability of its Plane Laws 548 840.
- Weakening restrictions: Changes in the laws destabilized ancient seals, allowing Demon Caverns and increasingly powerful enemies to emerge 615 616.
- Suppression of returning experts: The Dragon Emperor, Barbarian God, and Taiching Daoist experienced legal suppression after returning from the Upper Realm 956.
- Connection with Gu Chenfeng: After reaching True Saint, Gu Chenfeng could sense a special connection with the Plane Laws. Their support also helped develop his post-breakthrough potential 956 968.
Cultivation Resources and Manuals
- Resource wealth: Luo Sheng described the Seven Star Continent as exceptionally vast and resource-rich among lower planes, making it a desirable target for Upper Realm exploitation 547.
- Manual grades: Techniques are ranked Human → Yellow → Profound → Earth → Heaven 341.
- Earth Grade techniques: Genuine Earth Grade manuals generally require Grandmaster-level cultivation; top-tier examples are largely controlled by Great Grandmasters 341.
- Heaven Grade techniques: Extremely rare, demanding in their use of Heaven and Earth Origin Power, and mostly held by Source Emperor Realm experts 341.
- Spirit Power: After reaching Source Venerable, Gu Chenfeng detected minute traces of Spirit Power in the world. He suspected that it had entered from the Eternal Heaven Realm through the interplanar connection; his Heaven-Opening Creation Art could extract it from ordinary natural energy 764.
Inhabitants and Major Powers
Human and Demon Forces
| Power | Role |
|---|---|
| Three Sects | Supreme Dao Sect, Infinite Sword Sect, and Divine Mechanism Pavilion. Infinite Sword Sect leads in sword cultivation, while Divine Mechanism Pavilion specializes in mechanisms and formations 605. |
| Six Gates | Star Luo Hall, Immovable Wisdom King Valley, Divine Weapon Hall, Medicine King Hall, Heavenly Sound Pavilion, and Witch God Cult 605. |
| Demon Race’s Twelve Great Clans | Major demon powers, identified alongside humanity’s nine great sects in Gu Chenfeng’s heart-tribulation illusion 523. |
| Dragon Race | A major participant in the continent’s defense; its Great Protector attended the alliance’s highest-level founding discussions 705. |
| Four Symbols Divine Sect | Absorbed the surviving Star Luo Hall organization and entered the ranks of the super forces. After the continental victory, it became one of the world’s foremost factions 713 833. |
| Seven Star Alliance | Joint human–demon coalition established to eliminate the Upper Realm Four Clans’ invasion forces 712. |
Seven Star Alliance
- Founding leadership: True Person Yuqing was elected alliance leader as the continent’s only human–demon Saint Level expert then capable of contending with Mingluo 712.
- Decision-making structure: Included an alliance leader, deputy alliance leaders, and adjudicators; other Source Venerable representatives received the title of venerable envoy 712 715.
- Gu Chenfeng’s leadership: Initially appointed an adjudicator, he later became acting alliance leader while Yuqing and the four deputies reinforced Mingluo’s seal 712 801.
- Continental integration: Victory over the Soul Devouring Beast armies strengthened ties between the seven previously estranged continents through the alliance and its regional branches 832.
- Later defense: Yuqing remained on the continent as a Sub-Saint guardian after Gu Chenfeng entered the Upper Realm 1043.
Connections to Other Realms
| Realm or Space | Connection |
|---|---|
| Eternal Heaven Realm | The Four Clans used their Clan-Guarding Supreme Treasures to open two passages through weak points between the realms 547. |
| Central Earth | The continent’s corresponding Upper Realm territory. Its spatial node is located within the Great Jin Divine Dynasty, on the Feather Transformation Marquisate’s border 956. |
| Saint-Seizing Land | A Plane Prison created outside both the Seven Star Continent and the Upper Realm. Its only exit originally led to the continent 834. |
| Tianxuan Continent | A slightly smaller lower plane whose civilization had been destroyed. Its ruins supplied resources and techniques used in the Seven Star Continent’s resistance 813 823. |
- Different time flow: One day in the Eternal Heaven Realm corresponds to several dozen days on the Seven Star Continent. The ancient pioneers’ ten-thousand-year absence amounted to only a little over two hundred years in the Upper Realm 963.
- Ancient transportation network: Star Luo Hall retained a Super Teleportation Array connecting to Yan Province. Its high operating cost and Yan Province’s poorer cultivation conditions left that destination unused for nearly a century 518.
History
Marquis Yu’s Arrival
The Seven Star Continent was once a closed plane isolated from the Upper Realm. Marquis Yu entered it by chance while fleeing his enemies. Although he destroyed an initial group of pursuers tens of thousands of years earlier, the Four Races eventually followed his trail to the continent 733.
The pursuit originated in the Great Jin Divine Dynasty’s political struggles. Marquis Yu supported the fourth prince, while the Four Great Clans and three neighboring marquisates turned against him. Their subsequent invasion of the lower plane sought traces of Marquis Yu and the destruction of evidence connected to him 956.
Ancient Invasion and Sealing
Ten thousand years before the renewed invasion, the Four Races opened two passages and deployed millions of Devouring Spirit Beasts. These creatures consumed and stored souls and essence blood, serving as living containers for harvesting the plane’s inhabitants 547.
Taiching Daoist, the Dragon Emperor, the Barbarian God, and the Heavenly Demoness led the resistance. By taking resources from their enemies, they grew strong enough to reverse the war. Nevertheless, a more powerful force behind the invaders prevented a permanent solution 751 839 840.
Marquis Yu supplied a sealing method and the treasure needed to anchor the Saint-Seizing Land. The ancient defenders used this prison and other seals to contain their enemies, buying time to establish a foothold in the Upper Realm rather than leaving the continent exposed to further attacks 840.
Demon Cavern Crisis
Several hundred years before Luo Sheng’s conversation with Gu Chenfeng, the ancient sealing power began weakening. Renewed Upper Realm warfare later forced the closure of both interplanar passages, leaving the continent to confront the imprisoned invaders as their restraints failed 548 596.
The Human Race Alliance and the Three Sects and Six Gates publicly announced the danger and called on factions to report or suppress emerging Demon Caverns. Central Province suffered the greatest devastation: farmland emptied, cities were abandoned, and even first-rate factions were destroyed. Other provinces initially faced smaller caverns that local forces could suppress 616 629.
Human and demon leaders eventually established the Seven Star Alliance after suffering heavily while fighting separately. The coalition restored the united front of the ancient war 703 712 715.
Continental Victory and the Plane Prison
Under Gu Chenfeng, the alliance defeated the main Soul Devouring Beast armies and sent reinforcements to the other six continents. Subsequent campaigns destroyed more than ninety percent of the beasts, though the Four Great Vajras remained unaccounted for 832 846 896.
The Saint-Seizing Land remained a greater threat. It had accidentally connected to multiple spatial passages, trapping beings from other planes as well as the Four Saints. Because its only exit led to the Seven Star Continent, its collapse threatened to release all these forces into the world 834.
Gu Chenfeng entered the prison and united the Chaos Star Domain against Heavenly Saint City. When the seal finally broke, the prison merged with the continent, and foreign cultivators and Star Beasts emerged through widespread spatial fissures. Alliance branch armies suppressed indiscriminate killing and maintained regional order 886 934.
Final Battle and Restoration
During the decisive battle, Luo Sheng and Qi Shan used the Saint-Hiding Golden Hall to refine the continent’s living beings into life essence. A mysterious ripple halted the spreading blood tide without stopping time 949.
Gu Chenfeng attained True Saint and killed Qi Shan with a single axe strike. The Dragon Emperor, Barbarian God, and Taiching Daoist returned, and the continent survived the confrontation with the Upper Realm forces. The invading army led by the Four Saints was destroyed, though Luo Sheng escaped 952 954 955.
Gu Chenfeng subsequently returned the invaders’ accumulated life energy to the world. Over the next three years, its environment recovered beyond the ancient golden age 959.
Great Jin Lockdown
The fourth prince granted protection to the continent through a Command Token secured with the help of the Dragon-Controlling Guard. However, the unresolved Marquis Yu affair led to a joint investigation by that force and the Heavenly Patrol Guards, accompanied by restrictions on travel to the Upper Realm 956 960.
The blockade remained in force after Gu Chenfeng’s departure. More than a century later by the continent’s reckoning, reports still described it as safe: the Dragon-Controlling Guard restrained the Heavenly Patrol Guards, Yuqing stood watch locally, and the Four Symbols Divine Sect and Gu Lineage remained at the pinnacle of its cultivation world 967 1043.
