Jin: Reclaiming the Realm

To reclaim is both to expand and to sweep clean.

Having arrived in the age of the Eastern Jin and the Sixteen Kingdoms, one ought to brave the currents and vow to march north: first drive the Five Barbarian Peoples from the Central Plains, then sweep the entrenched aristocratic clans from the imperial court. Clear the realm, forge a new legacy, and preserve Chinese civilization.

That is the ideal, at least. But in the autumn of the fifth year of Yonghe-349 CE-when a time traveler arrives in the Eastern Jin and becomes just another of its countless displaced refugees, his first concern is far more pressing: How will he survive this winter? How can he avoid falling below the threshold of survival?

Yet another clichéd tale of time travel.
