Warm sun jade was a relatively rare natural treasure used for many purposes in the cultivation world, such as refining protective artifacts or adding certain properties to weapons. It could even be used to treat illnesses and save lives.

Most cultivators, however, wore it as an ornament. Its greatest benefits were warming the body, dispelling cold, and improving one's vitality, making it a fine supportive gemstone.

It offered considerable benefits to ordinary cultivators below Foundation Establishment, but at Jiang Tian's level, he was already impervious to fire, water, and all manner of spells, so it was of little use to him.

"Heh, I never expected to see something like this in the mortal world."

Jiang Tian's lips curved into a faint smile before he withdrew his gaze.

"What are you doing, Jiang Tian?"

Just then, Jiang Wan'er came over with a small pendant in her hand and asked.

"Oh, nothing."

Jiang Tian shook his head and looked away as he answered.

Jiang Wan'er glanced curiously at the man in the fur coat and the others nearby, then looked away as well. She handed Jiang Tian the small pendant she had chosen. "I spotted this just now. Do you think it's pretty?"

Jiang Tian took it. It was a jade pendant made of fairly ordinary material. Although the jade itself wasn't particularly good, the design was exquisite: a little rabbit, carved so lifelike that it was quite lovely.

"It is. So, is this the one you want?"

Jiang Tian nodded, then asked with a smile.

"Yes, but it's a little expensive. It's over six thousand."

Jiang Wan'er nodded, then pursed her lips.

Although she now knew her brother was worth several million, the thought of spending six thousand yuan on such a tiny thing still made her wince.

Jiang Tian laughed and stood up. "Silly girl, if you like it, buy it. Didn't I tell you I have money?"

"But..."

"No buts. As long as you like it, I'd pluck the stars out of the sky for you!"

Jiang Tian interrupted her, then handed the pendant to the saleswoman. "Please wrap this one up too. I'll pay by card again."

The saleswoman immediately accepted it with a beaming smile, then hurried off to process the payment.

Seeing how freely her brother spent money on her, Jiang Wan'er gave him a sweet smile. "You're the best!"

Standing behind them to one side, Han Ying was already so envious that her tears were practically running out of her mouth.

She had truly lost count of how many times she had said she was jealous!

Before long, the saleswoman returned with the wrapped pendant, bank card, invoice, and receipt.

"Sir, all your purchases have been wrapped."

"Thank you."

Jiang Tian nodded and took everything, then said to Jiang Wan'er, "Let's go, Wan'er. We'll see what we can buy for Dad, then head home."

"Okay!"

Jiang Wan'er nodded obediently, then took Han Ying's hand, ready to leave with her.

Just then, however, they happened to see a bank employee walk in carrying two large leather cases.

The store manager immediately went up to greet him. "Bank Manager Du, you're finally here."

The man addressed as Bank Manager Du gave a wry smile. "General Manager Zhang, I got here as quickly as I could. The moment I received your call, I started gathering the cash. I'm only doing this because it's you. I wouldn't even entertain this request from anyone else. It's against regulations, you know."

The store manager hurriedly thanked him. "Of course, of course. I'll remember this favor, Bank Manager Du. I'll make sure you're well rewarded!"

"Oh, we're practically brothers. Why bring that up?"

Bank Manager Du waved it off, then asked, "So? Have you found something good again?"

"You bet!"

The store manager leaned toward his ear with a delighted smile and whispered a few words.

"Whoa, that much?"

Bank Manager Du's eyes lit up too.

"Yes, that's why I was in such a hurry. Take a break first, Bank Manager Du. Once I've signed the contract, we can have a proper chat!"

The store manager chuckled, then carried the two cases of money over to the man in the fur coat.

"Sir, the money is here. Shall we sign the contract?"

The store manager placed the two large cases on the table and spoke with an eager look in his eyes.

The fur-coated man's eyes lit up at the sight of the two large cases on the table!

"All right, let's sign!"

The man in the fur coat nodded with a broad grin.

"Would you like to check the money first?"

The store manager asked again.

The man in the fur coat considered it for a moment. "I'd better take a look."

With that, he opened both leather cases.

As the cases opened, neatly arranged stacks of banknotes came into view. Even that pleasant scent unique to money wafted out.

"Wow! That's so much money!"

Passing by with the other two, Jiang Wan'er couldn't help exclaiming in surprise at the sight.

Han Ying nodded too. "Yes, I've never seen this much money before. If only it were all mine!"

Jiang Tian, however, gave a disdainful chuckle. "Just a bunch of idiots with more money than sense."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

Jiang Tian's remark left Jiang Wan'er puzzled.

Jiang Tian shook his head. "Nothing. They're just a bunch of fools. I thought the experts at this jewelry store had some skill, but apparently, they're nothing special. They can't even see through such a simple trick."

Jiang Wan'er froze, seeming to realize something. "Are you saying the stuff that man brought in is fake?"

Jiang Tian shook his head. "More or less. Come on, let's go. It's none of our business anyway."

"We can't do that!"

Jiang Wan'er objected, her sense of responsibility surging.

"If we didn't know, that would be one thing. But now that we do, how can we just stand by and do nothing?"

That was how Jiang Wan'er had been taught: she couldn't tolerate any wrongdoing. Children these days had a stronger sense of justice than ever!

It was a good thing, but sometimes that same sense of justice could bring undeserved trouble down on them!

Looking at his sister's righteous indignation, Jiang Tian sighed helplessly. "Wan'er, you're still young. You don't understand how dangerous things can be. Listen to me. Don't meddle in other people's business."

Jiang Wan'er stood firm. "No! You weren't like this before. Have you forgotten? Back when you were in middle school, an old lady who collected scrap was bullied by a bunch of thugs outside the school gates. There were so many of them, but you weren't afraid. Why are you afraid now?"

For a moment, Jiang Tian was speechless. Then he said, "I'm not afraid. It's just that sometimes, you have to learn to stay out of things that don't concern you. Let's go."

With that, he took her hand, ready to lead her away.

But Jiang Wan'er stepped back and shook her head. "No. If you won't do anything, I will! I'm going to expose that swindler!"

With that, she strode over and shouted:

"He's a swindler! Don't sign the contract!"

Meanwhile, the store manager had already printed out the contract and was about to sign it. Hearing Jiang Wan'er's voice, he paused and looked at her as she approached.

"What did you say?"
