In the town on the other side, the siblings Lin Fangzheng and Lin Yuyu had run into a peculiar problem.
"Second Brother, has anyone replied to that post you worked so hard on?"
"Ugh, everyone says I'm dreaming. It only got a handful of likes. I spent all that time typing it up, and not a single person believes me."
Lin Fangzheng felt rather helpless. In an age when traffic was everything, a newly registered account with no followers posting a bunch of bizarre claims would naturally go unseen.
Besides, people had already spouted all those wild ideas before.
What theory couldn't you find online?
With one or two truths mixed into countless lies, who would readily believe them?
The siblings felt indignant and complained for ages, but there was nothing they could do.
"Then forget it. We'll spend our lives working toward catching that King Fish or whatever. Either we accomplish nothing, or we get rich and win the grand prize."
Bored, Lin Yuyu played with her phone, swiping through the screen.
Suddenly, she saw a short video an older schoolmate had posted to her Moments: "Found a super interesting middle-aged guy at a little bar! He sings Renaissance-era songs amazingly well, and he can play guitar and piano! We wanted to invite him to join our band, but he politely declined. Still, we discussed popular music from that era. Such a fun evening!"
She had meant to swipe past it, since bands didn't interest her and she couldn't play any instruments. Suddenly, her eyes lit up as she spotted something in the video. "Second Brother... Second Brother! I think I found that guy!!"
Lin Fangzheng sat at his computer, looking through information about various mutated fish. He wanted to know whether "King Fish" had ever appeared on Earth.
