What was the void?
For the universe, it was the vacuum beyond a planet's atmosphere.
Boundless, with nothing in it.
Then what was the void within the human body?
Previously, Chen Jue had always understood it as a state of cultivation: the mind followed one's will, allowing one to direct qi and blood through the body with thought and thereby master the body's changes.
This was the cultivation stage above Transforming Strength in the body-tempering phase of martial arts, known as "breaking through the void to behold the gods."
Once cultivation reached this point, the human body could awaken [Inner Vision], allowing one to begin directly confronting the cellular universe within one's own body.
This marked a shift from macroscopic cultivation to a microscopic perspective. Afterward, one used external forces to treat hidden injuries and ruptured capillaries, keeping the body at its peak.
Without discovering an energy like primordial qi, cultivation would reach its end at this point. Many sages throughout history had all stopped here.
Because they had no attribute point allocation system like Chen Jue's, after seeing the endpoint of physical evolution, they could only turn to cultivating the mind.
Shakyamuni's Buddhism, the Taoism of Laozi, Li Er, and other religions and schools had all arisen for this reason.
In Chen Jue's view, his predecessors had not taken the wrong path in cultivation. They had merely been constrained by the circumstances of their eras.
If Shakyamuni, Laozi, and the others were allowed to enter Second Home, the paths they forged would probably be even more remarkable than Chen Jue's.
"The path ahead, the path ahead... Crossing from the body-tempering level to the transcendent level already involved breaking through the void once."
"But the void involved in breaking past the limit of 1 was the void of the fleshly
