Something stirred in Chen Jue's mind, and he recalled his earlier encounter with the Phoenix Bird.
Back then, that Phoenix Bird, which had lived for over a thousand years, had used mind rainbow light to communicate with him through thought. The very first thing it had called him was "human."
And now, the owner of the enormous eyes that had appeared in his precognitive vision possessed the same ability as the Phoenix Bird to communicate through mind rainbow light.
But before Chen Jue could reply to the owner of that deep voice, a dazzling light began to shine inside the Pyramid.
Scarlet-gold energy filled the air, spreading rapidly along the patterns on the chamber's inner walls like an electric current.
In the blink of an eye, the entire chamber took on a hazy, golden splendor.
Under that golden illumination, the enormous beast lying prone in the center of the chamber revealed its appearance.
It was a turtle-like creature, only extremely large. Its shell alone was the size of a soccer field.
Its four thick legs stood on the ground like pillars, and its raised head resembled both a dragon and a ghost, bearing scales and horns.
Yet the most striking feature was not its animal appearance, but the enormous upright stele on its back, which reached straight up to the very top of the chamber.
The stele was made of metal, with what looked like a layer of gold wrapped around its exterior. Strange characters in Bird-Worm Seal Script were engraved on its face.
Although Chen Jue could not make out what those characters said, merely sweeping his perception over them brought him a palpable sense of unwillingness and helplessness.
