Having finally steadied himself after the shock of Victor's attributes, Xia Xu glanced at the Fate Profile and obsession fields and rubbed between his brows.
Having an obsession was nothing to fear. Eighty percent of ordinary people's obsessions could be resolved with money or power. The hardest people to deal with were those with no obsession at all.
Of course, that did not mean his mind was free of all distracting thoughts, merely that none of his desires were strong enough to qualify as an obsession. Or, to put it another way, there was nothing he wanted but could not obtain.
But that left Xia Xu unable to quickly win him over through his obsession.
Moreover, the words "Plot Protagonist" were displayed plain as day in Victor's Fate Profile.
"Mechanical Age"-the name alone suggested its effects would be far-reaching. It might even involve something like an AI uprising or mechanical ascension.
Most importantly, whether because the plot had yet to begin or for some other reason, even after he had met Victor, its protagonist, the Fate Profile entry still showed no relevant plot synopsis. He was completely in the dark.
"Forget it. I'll try approaching him first."

The smile faded from Victor's face before he forced his lips into another curve. "I don't casually make friends with men."
He was perfectly polite, his tone humorous.
But that humor clearly gave the person on the receiving end nothing to laugh about.
