Background / History

Purple Cloud originally lived as a stray cat, frequently going hungry, suffering injuries, and fleeing from extraordinary creatures. She had also witnessed stronger strays taking food from weaker cats, an experience that shaped her determination to become stronger than her rivals 11 45.

After awakening as an extraordinary creature, she became Xu Ran’s first contracted pet. Their contract allowed him to understand her calls, and he named her Purple Cloud after briefly joking about calling her “Lightning Mother” 7. Her new home was the Starfire Foster Shop, where she shared meals with Xu Ran and slept beside him while he studied beast-taming fundamentals 14.

Purple Cloud is a small female cat with silky, snowy-white long fur and a conspicuous purple lightning mark on her forehead 7.

Her enthusiasm is tempered by practical caution: after learning that the dragon’s skills are all at Starlight Level, she immediately postpones their fight 44.

She is deeply attached to Xu Ran. Following her first defeat, she worries more about disappointing him than about losing. She cannot sleep peacefully away from him and insists on accompanying him outside the city rather than waiting to be summoned 13 22 29.

Her gratitude often leads to exaggerated interpretations of his actions. She believes his grooming work is a sacrifice undertaken to obtain skills for her, and assumes he risked the wilderness solely to gather ingredients for her meals. Despite her fighting spirit, Purple Cloud enjoys food, comfort, and cleanliness. A can of food readily distracts her from demands to train, while the prospect of rolling in the Steel-Armored Rhino’s mud pool sends her fleeing back to Xu Ran 14 37.

First Spar and Defeat

Purple Cloud’s first match against the Blazing Fox takes place at Tianhong Arena. Her instinctive fear of fire causes her to hesitate before Flame Wall. After Electric Spark cancels the wall and raises dust, Xu Ran orders a charge; the fox uses Flame Eyes to track her through the haze and Flame Dance to defeat her 12 13.

An arena healing pet restores her within minutes. Xu Ran identifies mistakes on both sides of their partnership rather than blaming her, turning her discouragement into motivation for another fight 13.

First Wilderness Trip

Purple Cloud insists on joining Xu Ran and the Fierce Tiger Hunting Squad outside Qingzhou City. She rides with him on the Steel-Armored Rhino during their resource-gathering expedition 29 30. The party encounters a beast tide and returns safely after a powerful Beast Tamer riding a Red-Eyed Demon Dragon intervenes 33. When Xu Ran later cooks with the gathered Azure Jade Fruit, she believes the dangerous journey was undertaken for her sake 36.

Rematch and a New Goal

Purple Cloud requests a rematch when Su Xiaoxiao next visits while she is awake. This time, Combat Instinct lets her leap over Flame Wall, and Electric Spark breaks through Flame Dance. She strikes the Blazing Fox and wins, avenging her earlier defeat 42 44.

Her victory attracts the Dark-Scaled Dragon’s interest. She initially accepts its challenge, then withdraws on hearing about its superior skill proficiency. Over the following three days, she trains intensely with the aim of matching its Starlight-Level skills before facing it 44 45.

• “Lightning Mother” was a joke, not an adopted alias. Purple Cloud’s expectant expression freezes at the suggestion, and she approves the name Purple Cloud instead 7.
