Background / History

Jiang Hao lives at Dragonkeep as the Dragon Venerable’s son. His family includes eldest brother Long Yun, second older sister Liao Yunxiao, and siblings Luo En and Luo Su. He attends the War Academy through family connections and is known for poor academic performance and disrupting lessons 1 2 4 6.

After dreaming of a parallel world called Earth, he discovers the phone-like Survival Simulator inside his mind. He initially uses it to access Earth’s online entertainment, becoming absorbed in wilderness-survival fiction and videos during class. He does not know where the simulator came from or whether it is connected to the dream 1.

On his seventeenth birthday, Jiang Hao chooses Room Three during a randomized contracting ceremony. The egg inside hatches into a chick rather than the combat companion he wanted. His father reveals that he added a kitchen egg among the gifts on a whim. Because a Beast Tamer can contract only one life-bound companion, Jiang Hao turns to the simulator to strengthen the hen rather than replace her 2.

Jiang Hao is mischievous, vain, and quick to adapt. He adopts Earth internet slang almost immediately, laughs at entertainment during lessons, and repeatedly interprets attention from others as proof of his good looks. Although frightened of Liao Yunxiao’s temper, he still needles her and neglects her instructions 1 6.

Humiliation drives him to work harder. After his hen becomes a schoolwide joke and his first expedition’s success is exposed as partly arranged by his sister, he suppresses his anger and concentrates on tournament preparation. His willingness to experiment—kiting monsters, changing simulation difficulty, and revising attribute allocation—contrasts with his reputation as an academic failure 3 6 11.

As captain, he values cooperation over old grudges. He brings Song Jie and Chen Xiaolin into his squad despite their earlier hostility, refuses to abandon an unconscious teammate, and directs Wen Ruxue to treat Song Jie before attending to his own injuries 26 28 34.

The Wager and First Expedition

After classmates ridicule his companion, Jiang Hao challenges Song Jie to compete in the Shenzhou Kingdom Beast Pet Tournament. Song Jie makes Wen Ruxue becoming his girlfriend part of the stakes, while Jiang Hao wagers a rare beast crystal he does not possess 4 6.

Jiang Hao leads Chubby and Wen Ruxue into the Wuji Mountains, using simulated routes to prepare for danger. Following an Army Ant attack, he retrieves a rare crystal from the Elf Deer’s skeleton. Learning that Liao Yunxiao planted it undermines his pride but strengthens his resolve to prepare for the tournament 7 10 11.

These victories change “Chicken Bro” from an insult into a respected nickname 15.

Snow Spirit Lake Fishing Competition

Jiang Hao spends the opening days making equipment and cooking rather than immediately pursuing points. His blood-soaked lure and landing net prove more reliable than the other contestants’ methods, and he later switches to mass netting 20 21 22 23.

He finishes the ten-day stage first with a record 353 points, ahead of Song Jie’s 301 and Wei Zihan’s 300. Han Qing recognizes the practical value of his methods for feeding soldiers and orders restricted access to Snow Spirit Lake 25.

Wuji Mountains Survival Match

Jiang Hao expands his squad to include former rivals and leads it through the swamp and mountain regions. Army Ant farming maximizes Big Hen’s existing skills, while battles against the Fog Capital Divine Eagle and Snow Wolf King unlock bloodline power and Blood Enhancement 26 28 29 34 40.

In the Frozen Canyon, his squad hunts extensively and stockpiles smoked meat. Later contestants find the region stripped of game and withdraw for lack of food, creating resentment toward Jiang Hao’s team 40 46.

Avalanche and the Snow and Ice Banshee

A blizzard and avalanche separate Jiang Hao from the squad. He awakens in the Banshee’s ice cave, encounters a giant mosquito, and escapes with the Lava Heart. The mosquito catches and badly injures him before the Banshee kills it 42 43 44.

After receiving her advice and three hairs, Jiang Hao searches for an exit and survives a dark passage with Big Hen’s help. He reaches tournament registration just before it closes 45 46.

Team Battles and Military Prospects

Jiang Hao resumes command as the squad’s principal attacker. His team earns thirty-two points on its first day, defeats challengers across all five arenas, and draws national attention. Against the Cat Cat Squad, Yu Guangguang counters Six-Shot Fireball with freezing snowballs, prompting Jiang Hao to combine Lure, Fireball, and Wind Orb 46 48 49.

By the end of the three-and-a-half-month tournament, Jiang Hao has gained national recognition and strong bonds with all six teammates. He receives a supreme-grade Beast Crystal and military appointment contract 49 50.

His revelation that he can summon the Snow and Ice Banshee leads Han Qing to consider sending him into battle, where the Banshee might help defend the endangered City of Eternity against the North Sea Kingdom’s Saint, Xiao Lin 50.
