Chubby’s documented realm progression is tied to his Brown Bear and their ability to merge.

Background / History

Chubby is Jiang Hao’s deskmate, closest buddy, and initially his only friend. Both perform poorly academically: Jiang Hao ranks second from the bottom, while Chubby takes last place 1.

His father is Guo Mingzhi, identified as a city lord. Chubby resents his father’s attempt to frame his friendship with Jiang Hao as a useful political connection, insisting that Jiang Hao remains his brother regardless of status or background. He also complains that his father originally found him a pet with limited potential; Guo Mingzhi admits that he had not expected his son to become a Beast Tamer 18 32.

Appearance

• Ordinary form: Fat and solidly built, with a fleshy face 1 13.
• Merged form: A nearly two-meter-tall bear-man with a bear’s upper body, a human lower body, thick limbs, sharp claws, and fangs 13.

• Weight loss: Slims down considerably during the snowy mountain trek, although his remaining fat reserves help sustain his strength 37.

Personality

Chubby is honest, straightforward, and fiercely loyal to Jiang Hao. Although initially uncertain about Jiang Hao’s chances against Song Jie, he stakes his crystals on his friend and volunteers to accompany him into the dangerous Wuji Mountains. His loyalty persists when Jiang Hao disappears: he refuses to accept replacing him as captain before registration closes 1 6 46.

He has a fiery temper and reacts strongly to insults directed at himself or his friends. Jiang Hao and the other teammates repeatedly restrain him from starting fights outside the arena. During the Team Competition, he deliberately turns that same aggressive manner into a tactic, provoking opponents into challenging the team 6 16 46 48.

Food is a major weakness. He eats large portions, cannot cook, and objects vehemently to wasting meat that the team risked their lives to obtain. His attraction to Gongsun Qianxun makes him eager to impress her, but her criticism also exposes his sensitivity about his weight 21 29 35.

• Is caught by Tree Demon branches and later bitten during the Army Ant escape. Afterward, he removes the branch lodged in Jiang Hao’s thigh 9 10.

Tournament Preliminaries

• As contestant number 35, defeats Background Extra A and his Poison Scorpion King in under a minute, earning five points 13.
• Later narrowly defeats another Golden Body Realm merging fighter by pushing him out of bounds after more than four minutes 14.

Fishing Tournament
