To Li Long's surprise, the two fellows actually had quite a few good things in their Earth Cellar!
There were three deer antlers. Two were a pair, each with four tines, while the remaining one was particularly large, with seven tines. Li Long hefted them; the three weighed around twenty kilograms altogether.
There was over half a sack of dried fritillaria, which he confiscated without hesitation.
A heap of pots, bowls, ladles, and basins lay there, most of them taken from Li Long's Wooden Cabin. They looked as though they had all been used. Disgusted, Li Long kept none of them.
There were three machetes, their blades still stained with dark purplish blood that smelled strongly metallic. Li Long wasn't quite sure what kind of blood it was.
A dozen or so dug-up codonopsis roots had already been dried. They were somewhat shriveled, but the roots themselves were thick, weighing over a kilogram altogether.
There was a small half sack of cornmeal, some dried vegetables, and some dried mushrooms. Li Long didn't take those either.
Li Long grabbed a sack and packed the antlers, fritillaria, codonopsis, and other things into it. While packing, he suddenly turned, sliding the rifle off his shoulder straight into his hands, and fired into the lower leg of the young man behind him, who had raised a wooden club to attack him!
Bang!
The young man dropped his club to one side and fell to the ground, screaming.
Li Long took a look. There wasn't too much bleeding. It was a through-and-through wound and probably hadn't hit an artery.
