Boom!!

Blazing blue flames erupted, turning an area thirty meters across into a sea of fire. Waves of heat blasted outward.

The enormous ghoul monster burned with blue flames and roared at the sky, his howls filled with fury and madness, and even a trace of panic.

He tried to charge out of the flames, but a crocodile-man blocked his path.

Whenever he changed direction, Polaris seized the chance to follow, punching his leg joints to stop him. After several such attempts, Father Aokang's long hair had been scorched, sticking to his flesh and sending up billowing clouds of thick smoke.

Crackling rang out without pause.

The priest's gaze was icy. He knew that if this dragged on, he might truly die here, at the hands of these Blasphemers, weak as crawling insects yet sinister and cunning.

He had no idea how many more tricks these people had up their sleeves. To be safe, he decided to retreat for now and pass this information on to the Church first.

A red glow suddenly burst from his body, and he charged out of the sea of fire with speed and strength far beyond what he had shown before. This was a ghoul ability, but it sacrificed a large portion of his vitality and left him weakened for a considerable time afterward-a last resort that, to some extent, gambled with his life.

I can't let him escape! I have to stop him!

The thought flashed through Polaris's mind. Gritting his teeth, he pushed off the ground, darted beside the priest's feet, and threw a fierce punch.

This time, however, things did not go as he wished.

On that elongated, faceless beast's head, bloodthirsty, indifferent eyes shifted to stare straight at him. Then an enormous, razor-sharp claw swept toward him at terrifying speed!
