Seeing this, he tiptoed toward the carriage door.
"Mr. Alexis, are you planning to take this opportunity to leave?"
Connie stopped her pen, looked up, and asked curiously.
Alexis froze. He coughed, then turned back quite naturally, his head held high and chest puffed out.
"Oh no, I merely wanted to go out and help. Don't misunderstand, Miss Connie."
"Mr. Jack said everyone on the team should do their own job. The combat personnel handle trouble through force, while we simply need to wait patiently here... Besides, you're an ordinary person just like me, Mr. Alexis. What could you help with?"

Connie's expression was a little odd, but she nodded along nonetheless.
Alexis nodded in satisfaction, thoroughly enjoying the praise.
But Connie immediately added something else.
"Still, please stay inside the carriage and don't go out. Those were Mr. Jack's instructions... Besides, even if you leave the carriage, the Black Crystal Craft Puppets outside will catch you and bring you back."
Alexis faltered slightly, then finally sighed in dejection.
"Fine, fine, I won't leave! That heartless Jack actually imprisoned me. Ah, a great Bard's era ends here, reduced to a slave in the Circus!"
He walked over and lay down on the soft leather sofa, wailing with an exaggerated look of utter anguish.
"I don't care about anything anymore! I'm going to sleep! Let me forget all this suffering!"
Connie glanced at him. Seemingly already accustomed to Alexis's bombastic speeches
