Gu Sheng grinned at the dark mass of people in the distance, looking thoroughly pleased, and tilted his head toward Leung Siu-tong.
Leung Siu-tong immediately picked up the Big Brother Phone and dialed.
They were at a T-junction where the road out of the Hung Hom Tunnel joined Gloucester Road before branching off in both directions.
The enemy's front ranks were right at that junction, blocking the roads completely.
"Where's Handsome Sheng? Don't tell me he's too scared to come out!" someone on the other side jeered loudly.
Gu Sheng jumped down from the railing and walked forward at an unhurried pace. Countless eyes settled on him.
The lights behind him obscured his face, but everyone could see a hint of nonchalance in his stride.
"And here I thought it was someone important. Your name's... what the fuck was your name again?" Gu Sheng paused to think, then sneered.
Sha Rong, the Leader of Chung Hing, kept a cold expression. Rather than trade barbs over that, he said icily:
"Handsome Sheng, you broke the rules and pissed everyone off! No triad in all of Hong Kong Island has room for you!"
"No room for me? What a joke! You think I give a fuck what you think?" Gu Sheng burst into wild, unrestrained laughter.
He was about to step forward when a faint pain prickled through him, and a slight sense of danger enveloped him. He drew back his raised foot, took a step backward, then another, and stepped to the side.
The sense of danger began coming and going. Someone was clearly aiming a gun at him.
Possibly more than one person.
"What, scared? I thought you really had balls!" Sai Fei, the Boss of Tiu Sei, mocked him.
"I'm just afraid of getting blood splashed all over me!
