As news of the Ma Brothers' deaths reached a fever pitch, the Wah Kee branches in Malaysia gathered for another meeting.
Their meeting, however, had little to do with the Ma Brothers.
"That bastard's got nine lives! Even that didn't kill him!" the Leader of Ling Sei bellowed as soon as he sat down.
"What kind of mercenaries were they? Completely useless! They weren't even as good as our Si Hai Wah Ching men. We took out one of Hongxing's Bosses!" The Leader of Si Hai Wah Ching was in a fairly good mood. His men had done him proud.
"True, we didn't kill Handsome Sheng this time, but it wasn't a total loss. We showed Hongxing and the other gangs that we're not to be pushed around. Besides, every gang contributed to this operation, not just your Si Hai Wah Ching."
Wangbiao smoked his pipe on the side, glancing at Si Hai Wah Ching's Leader as he spoke.
"We all contributed, but that doesn't mean we deserve equal credit! Isn't that right?" Si Hai Wah Ching's Leader looked straight at the others.
"Forget about who deserves credit for now. That bastard Handsome Sheng is crazy. Now that he's survived, he definitely won't let this go!" Hing Kee's Leader spoke up. He hadn't really wanted to get involved in the first place, since he wasn't far from retirement.
But with everyone else committing themselves, Hing Kee would have had no standing left if it backed down.
Now that Handsome Sheng was still alive, he immediately began worrying about retaliation from Hong Kong Island.
"What? Scared? You think he's the only crazy one? I'm crazy too. Are you scared of me?" someone immediately sneered.
Though the Wah Kee branches supported one another and were considerably more united than organizations like Hongmen,
