That evening, Gu Sheng came out of the restaurant picking his teeth, still feeling rather pissed off.
He casually asked Leung Siu-tong beside him, "How's that young policewoman doing?"
"Same as before. She's not welcome at the police station, and you haven't contacted her lately either, Brother Sheng," Leung Siu-tong said.
"Rumors only spread further and further. Even when those people know they're wrong, they won't admit it. They'll just spread the rumors even harder," Gu Sheng scoffed.
"The hardest thing for people is admitting they're wrong."
"You're getting more and more profound, Brother Sheng!"
"Of course! How else could I be your boss? I study every day!" Gu Sheng laughed.
He was just considering having Leung Siu-tong send someone to find the young policewoman when Leung Siu-tong added, "Sister Jenny was discharged today. Do you want to visit her, Brother Sheng?"
"Was that today?"
"Yeah. I had someone help with the hospital paperwork. Sister Jenny asked about you too. She'd be really happy if you went over."
"Fuck, I'm so busy..." Gu Sheng thought about it. He didn't have anything to do anyway.
"Fine, let's go see her."
What a shame. If he wanted to play blind man's buff again, he'd have to blindfold her.
But how could pretending be as fun as the real thing?
"Also, Brother Sheng, tomorrow's Sister Ann's birthday. Do you want to call her first? And Sister Xinxin called you twice before. You still haven't visited her since you got back..."
Gu Sheng's eyebrows rose, impatience all over his face. "Fuck, I'm so goddamn busy!"
Why did he have so much to deal with every single day?
"Do you think the Governor's as busy as I am?" Gu Sheng asked those around him.
"I hear the Governor only has one wife..." Leung Siu-tong said.
