Background

Dai Mubai was the third son of the Star Luo Imperial Family and the third prince of the empire. Through the generations-long intermarriage between the Dai and Zhu families, he was engaged to Zhu Zhuqing, while his elder brother Dai Weisi was engaged to Zhu Zhuyun. 163 199

Unable to endure Dai Weisi's targeting and suppression, Dai Mubai left the Star Luo Empire and entered Shrek Academy in Suotuo City. Rather than continue struggling for succession, he chose to spend what he believed were his remaining years indulging himself, leaving Zhu Zhuqing behind despite her own danger within the Zhu family. 163 199

Dai Mubai is arrogant toward those beneath him but quickly becomes cautious before overwhelming strength. After losing to Lin Ye in spirit combat, he abandoned his desire for revenge and warned Ma Hongjun not to provoke Lin Ye further. 176 Lin Ye later characterized him as someone who bullied the weak and feared the strong, noting that he treated Ma Hongjun and Oscar as subordinates while respecting Tang San as a near-equal. 195

He is possessive and deeply hypocritical regarding Zhu Zhuqing.
