Players could develop along different playstyles in Monster World.
Exploration, fishing, hunting, Novice Village Domination, and so on.
Each playstyle had its devoted fans, and quite a few players even participated in several.
For example, many players focused on hunting but occasionally tried fishing for recreation.
Among these different playstyles, one group could be called the Berserkers of the Player Legion. They were always either fighting or on their way to a fight.
Every day, they started waiting by the beach for the Arena shuttle at first light.
Their routine was simple: start fighting as soon as they entered, return to the village to train when their winning streak ended, and come back tomorrow.
If they missed the shuttle, they went looking for monsters to fight.
They never complained about powerful opponents, believing that if you were bad, you should practice more.
They also specifically hunted monsters stronger than themselves, pushing their combat skills to the limit in every battle.
They were also the group most eager to improve in Monster World. Like perpetual motion machines, they were always looking for ways to grow stronger.
These were the Arena Enthusiasts, whose playstyle rivaled those of the three great Demon Sects.
A comment one competitive player left under a Forum post described this group vividly. He said:
"Hot-blooded combat is what true men live for. These days, I dream every night about making my combos smoother. I'm even inputting skills in my dreams. The first thing I do when I wake up is run through my latest combo, terrified I'll get rusty."
This once-niche group was gradually growing larger as the player population increased.
Apart from players who joined for the excitement, true Arena Enthusiasts seemed addicted to combat.
