Chapters 101–125 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 101Wandless casting

Mu You reached the blacksmith and traded liquor for modifications to his backpack and weapon, then fused a keyhole-shaped space node into his mind. After testing the new locked doorway, he learned from Vivian that Wandless Casting depended on precise energy control, a skill Potion Makers mastered.

  • Mu You killed a string of attacking newcomers on the road and realized Mist Mountain was a high-level grinding area where low-level players struggled to advance.
  • Mu You reached the blacksmith and persuaded him to craft a lock-cylinder backpack and socket his weapon in exchange for liquor.
  • Mu You emptied his backpack, including planting the Mandrake in a flowerpot and cutting down a tree, then handed the backpack to the blacksmith.
  • The blacksmith finished the work, and Mu You fused the Keyhole-Shaped Space Node into his mind.
  • Mu You used Heartlock Unseal to create and enter a locked doorway, then confirmed he could open it only with the Unlocking Spell.
  • Vivian explained that Wandless Casting required precise energy control and that an excellent Potion Maker could cast without a wand.

Ch. 102The plan to trap and kill the Werewolf

Mu You learned that Xiao Ya had not obtained a game Activation Code and decided to get one for her. He contacted Lu Yao, who offered him a code in exchange for helping her hunt the Werewolf, and Mu You agreed.

  • Mu You returned to the shop, where Xiao Ya noticed his dark circles had disappeared and asked whether he was already a player.
  • Mu You confirmed he was a player, told Xiao Ya how the game worked, and considered buying her an Activation Code.
  • Mu You received a call from Lu Yao, who confirmed he was Guest13457 and asked what he needed.
  • Mu You asked Lu Yao for an Activation Code, and she offered one for free if he helped her hunt the Werewolf.
  • Mu You agreed to help Lu Yao, who said she would contact him about the plan and could provide the code next Monday.

Ch. 103Bloodshed sparked by a woman

Mu You gave Xiao Ya a valuable Fool Game Activation Code and then read about a violent clash between the Illuminati and the Soul-Slaying Guild. The aftermath remained unresolved as the Anomaly Investigation Bureau detained some fighters, while Mu You found a new post about a Nun Skin changing a male player's body.

  • Mu You told Xiao Ya that he had obtained a Fool Game Activation Code for her, and she accepted it despite its high market price.
  • Mu You read a Forum thread reporting that the Illuminati and the Soul-Slaying Guild had fought after the Illuminati leader caught his wife, Leng Yu, with her former guildmate.
  • Mu You watched footage of the bloody clash, which left three Illuminati members and sixteen Soul-Slaying members dead before the Anomaly Investigation Bureau intervened.
  • Mu You learned that the Bureau had detained several aggressive fighters, warned both guilds, and placed J City under martial law while officials considered how to handle player violence.
  • Mu You found a Forum post from a male player claiming that a Nun Skin had changed his chest and face after he removed it.

Ch. 104Tonight, the Rain Would Pour

Mu You learned how to prevent a skin from permanently affecting someone’s appearance, tended to the shop, and spent the day making a difficult teleportation card. The chapter ended as a once-in-a-century storm battered K City and authorities warned residents to stay indoors.

  • Mu You read that frequently switching between at least two skins could prevent either skin from permanently changing someone’s original appearance.
  • Cola came downstairs covered in lumps after Vivian beat him, and Xiao Ya used Mu You’s ointment to heal him.
  • Lin Xue requested a week of leave for a family emergency, and Mu You told her he was willing to help if she needed anything.
  • Mu You made backup copies of Summon Zombie, Light of Denial, and Darkness Teleportation, spending nearly twelve hours on the last card.
  • Mu You tested the Darkness Teleportation Array in the Basement and found that only its caster could use it.
  • A severe storm struck K City, and the rainstorm warning was upgraded to red as officials urged residents to stay indoors.

Ch. 105The Night Watchman Went Out Rain or Shine

Mu You went out for Night Watch Duty in a storm and discovered that a fight between players had destroyed his usual bench. He followed the trail to a clash between the Illuminati and the injured High-Level Player Gao Ziming, who revealed that their dispute involved a secret and then tore open a scroll as the attackers closed in.

  • Mu You added Witch's Poison to his Mithril Bow, giving its arrows a poison effect that dealt damage over time and slowed targets.
  • Mu You went to the park for Night Watch Duty and found his usual bench uprooted amid signs of a magical fight.
  • Mu You followed the bloodstains and footprints through the park and found seven Illuminati members surrounding Gao Ziming.
  • The Illuminati leader demanded that Gao Ziming hand over an undisclosed item, while Gao Ziming threatened to turn it over to the Anomaly Investigation Bureau.
  • As the Illuminati attacked, Gao Ziming tore open a scroll and declared that they would all suffer.

Ch. 106Ways to Hurt Each Other

Gao Ziming used a forbidden Lightning Storm scroll to kill several Illuminati pursuers and steal their backpacks, then fled toward the coast. Mu You followed and used his pocket watch to rewind time, interrupting Gao’s attempt to teleport into the sea; Gao stopped to face his closing pursuers.

  • Gao Ziming unleashed a Lightning Storm scroll, killing three Illuminati members and disabling another.
  • Gao killed the injured Illuminati member, stole his backpack, and fled with the other three chasing him.
  • Vivian told Mu You that Gao carried something valuable, so Mu You followed the pursuit to the coast.
  • Gao tried to use the Great Teleportation Technique to escape into the sea, but Mu You rewound time and caused two arrows to interrupt his chant.
  • Gao stopped and turned to face the three Illuminati pursuers as they closed in.

Ch. 107A fierce battle in the rain

Gao Ziming used Mu You’s presence to split the Illuminati group, while Mu You fought the fat wizard Sun Yao in the woods. Mu You escaped Sun Yao’s Water Prison Spell, poisoned him with arrows, and crippled his leg with a Broadsword.

  • Gao Ziming baited the Illuminati members into sending Sun Yao after Mu You, leaving him to fight the other two.
  • Mu You prepared to face Sun Yao, who bombarded the woods with Fireball Spells and exposed Mu You with dust.
  • Mu You used the Fool Barrier to study the Water Prison Spell’s moving walls and prepare a volley of arrows in slowed time.
  • Mu You dodged the water walls and fired arrows that damaged and poisoned Sun Yao, while Sun Yao’s water prison closed around empty space.
  • Mu You appeared behind Sun Yao and drove a Broadsword into his right leg, leaving him unable to feel it properly.

Ch. 108Who told you this was one-on-one?

Mu You killed the fat Illuminati member, then revealed that he could raise the dead and summon Warhawk. The Man in Black fled toward the sea as Mu You and his allies pursued him.

  • Mu You trapped the fat man's knife with his leg, then killed him with a flying card while the man's Wizard Hat shielded him from flames.
  • Mu You took the fat man's knife, magic wand, and Space Bag, while the Man in Black finished off the wounded Illuminati member.
  • The Man in Black demanded Mu You's knife and card, but Mu You raised his staff and warned him that their fight was not one-on-one.
  • Three dead men rose as zombies and attacked the Man in Black, who could not stop one even after destroying its head and burning it to bones.
  • Warhawk struck the Man in Black with lightning as Mu You hit him with poisoned arrows, and the Man in Black limped toward the sea while they chased him.

Ch. 109Slip-underfoot Spell

Mu You used repeated time loops to develop a spell that made Gao Ziming slip with every step, stopping his escape to the sea. When Gao tried to bargain and then reached for a dangerous Black Box, Vivian restrained him and Mu You ordered his summons to attack.

  • Mu You repeatedly attacked Gao Ziming as he fled, but Gao dodged his strikes and neared the sea.
  • Following Vivian's advice, Mu You used the Crystal and his Pocket Watch to refine tiny Air Cannons into the Slip-underfoot Spell.
  • Gao Ziming repeatedly slipped on his way to the sea as Mu You's Zombies and Warhawk closed in.
  • Gao offered Mu You a Blood Contract Scroll in exchange for his freedom, but Mu You refused.
  • Gao took out a Black Box and began to open it, so Vivian bound him with a spell.
  • Mu You blasted Gao into the surrounding Zombies and commanded them and the Warhawk to attack while Vivian summoned the Black Box and scroll.

Ch. 110Shadow Fiend

Mu You killed Gao Ziming, recovered the stolen loot, and learned that the black box contained a devastating shadow fiend made by the Undead Society. Realizing the Illuminati would investigate, he began covering up what had happened by raising the man in black as a zombie.

  • Mu You used three Exploding Zombies to kill Gao Ziming, then took his spatial pouch and collected a blue crystal that seemed like a Relic.
  • Mu You and Vivian examined the black box, and Vivian identified the creature sealed inside as a shadow fiend formed from extreme negative emotions.
  • Vivian explained that shadow fiends could possess people and destroy entire regions, and recognized the box's emblem as belonging to the Undead Society.
  • Mu You connected the Undead Society and the Illuminati to the box's arrival in K City and realized the Illuminati would soon investigate the deaths.
  • Mu You raised the man in black as a zombie so he could make his cover-up look convincing.

Ch. 111Taking Stock of the Haul

After eliminating the witnesses to the fight, Mu You secured Lu Yao’s help in concealing his movements and examined the Illuminati members’ belongings. He learned that most of their magic items had been reclaimed by the game after their deaths and identified the surviving loot, including a useful Cutting Magic Wand.

  • Mu You sent the black-clad man’s zombie out to sea, destroyed it, and returned home after ensuring the witnesses were dead and the storm had obscured the traces.
  • Mu You confirmed the Blood Contract Scroll’s effects and made Lu Yao sign a contract to hide his movements, keep tonight’s events secret, and accept his future help with one task.
  • Mu You searched eight backpacks taken from the dead Illuminati members and found that most contained mundane supplies and only a few magic items.
  • Mu You bought a forum post explaining that players’ deaths caused the game to reclaim most magic items, leaving one random item behind and dropping reclaimed goods in the Star Spirit World.
  • Mu You tested the Cutting Magic Wand and found it could slice through steel, then identified the remaining loot as an Omniscient Crystal, Fortune Dice, Merfolk Mask, Silverback Brush, and Sketching Pen.

Ch. 112Omniscient Master Brian

Mu You fused the Omniscient Crystal and discovered it could analyze people and objects in precise detail, then inspected the loot from his recent fight. After combining six backpacks to expand his storage space, he found that the new terrain included a mountain range.

  • Mu You fused the Omniscient Crystal and learned it could analyze objects, creatures, and player attributes.
  • Mu You discovered that Vivian had disguised the Phantom Magic Wand so the crystal identified it as unremarkable.
  • Mu You inspected the Fortune Dice and rolled it repeatedly with his Time Pocket Watch until he got a six.
  • Mu You examined the Merfolk Mask and realized it had enabled the man in black to escape through the sea.
  • Mu You fused six unused backpacks into his lock core backpack, expanding its dimensions to 300 × 300 × 100 meters.
  • Mu You entered the expanded space and found that its new terrain included a mountain range.

Ch. 113The Tomb on Mist Mountain

Mu You explored the newly formed mountain in his space, then learned that Gao Ziming had escaped overseas after killing seven Illuminati pursuers and that Lu Yao feared the Werewolf might act desperately. In the game, Mu You crossed into Mist Mountain’s deadly fog, found a Gravedigger’s skin and uncovered an ancient tomb, where he faced the choice of entering.

  • Mu You inspected the mountain in his space, where the Wicked Mother Bird killed a snake, then studied Vivian's notes before returning to his room.
  • Lu Yao told Mu You that the Forum reported Gao Ziming had killed seven Illuminati members, escaped overseas, and become the target of a joint bounty; she also warned that the Werewolf might act desperately.
  • Mu You entered Mist Mountain’s fog, struggled to navigate its shifting paths, and found a skeleton carrying only a Gravedigger skin.
  • Mu You used Lucky Dust to search the fog and discovered an ancient tomb whose carvings suggested its occupant had created Mist Mountain’s permanent mist.
  • Mu You heard monsters growling behind the tomb’s stone door and was left to decide whether to enter.

Ch. 114Trespassers in the Tomb Must Die!

Mu You explored the tomb on Mist Mountain and discovered that its powerful guardians were beyond his level. He released the Shadow Fiend to fight for him, only to learn it had possessed his character and taken control of his body.

  • Mu You entered the tomb, placed a Darkness Teleportation Array by the entrance, and found a Cursed Spring that granted a temporary benefit at the cost of a permanent curse.
  • Mu You ignored the spring and approached one of six passages, where a level 25 Tomb Guardian Imp killed him with one attack.
  • Mu You rewound time and considered leaving, but realized the Shadow Fiend might be able to defeat the tomb’s monsters.
  • Mu You sent the Shadow Fiend’s box into the game and opened it near the passage, allowing the Shadow Fiend to possess his character.
  • The possessed character tore the Tomb Guardian Imp in half, but gained no experience or lifespan from the kill.

Ch. 115Not one could withstand a single blow

Mu You found a way to use the Shadow Fiend as temporary backup by exploiting a curse that would kill him while possessed, then planned to reseal it with the box. The Shadow Fiend rampaged through the high-level dungeon, slaughtering every monster in its path.

  • Mu You rewound after learning that the Shadow Fiend’s possession prevented him from controlling the game, and asked Vivian how he could reseal it.
  • Vivian explained that Mu You had to die while possessed, revive nearby, and open the sealing box at the instant the Shadow Fiend tried to possess him again.
  • Mu You repeatedly rolled curses at the Cursed Spring until he received “rage,” which drained his health when he experienced negative emotions.
  • Mu You released the Shadow Fiend again, and its brutal emotions activated the curse as it took control of him.
  • The Shadow Fiend killed the Tomb Guardian Imp and the Stone Statue Knights, then charged through the dungeon and slaughtered its powerful monsters.

Ch. 116Vampire Earl

Mu You trapped the rampaging Shadow Fiend in a Sealing Box, then explored the ruined tomb and discovered its owner was the vampire Night Earl Liston. He obtained Liston’s skin and learned it granted powerful talents but carried severe curses.

  • The Shadow Fiend slaughtered the tomb’s monsters and battered the walls until Mu You’s character died and revived at the entrance.
  • Mu You rewound time repeatedly and captured the Shadow Fiend in the Sealing Box on his tenth attempt.
  • Mu You searched the ruined tomb but found no monster materials because the Shadow Fiend had destroyed the corpses.
  • Mu You reached a secret chamber near Mist Mountain’s summit and found Night Earl Liston’s ice coffin; opening it caused Liston’s preserved body to wither.
  • Mu You looted a Vampire Skin, a Ghost Cloak, and Vampire Claws, then inspected the skin’s talents and curses.

Ch. 117A shortcut to the summit

Mu You equipped the Vampire skin and its powerful gear, then experienced the skin’s bloodthirst curse and learned from Vivian that Vampires were hunted in Justice Faction territory. Back in the Tomb, he discovered a chimney that could take him straight to the summit of Mist Mountain.

  • Mu You examined the Vampire skin’s talents and curses, then found that the Ghost Cloak was rare grade and the Vampire Claws were epic grade.
  • Mu You loaded the Vampire skin, equipped the cloak and claws, and tested how he could extend and retract the claws.
  • Mu You felt the Bloodlust curse make him thirsty for fresh blood and considered whether animal blood or blood bags would satisfy it.
  • Vivian warned Mu You that Vampires belonged to the Evil Faction and could draw the Church’s and Demon Hunters’ attention in Justice Faction territory.
  • Mu You searched the secret chamber again and found a chimney leading nearly a thousand meters upward to the summit of Mist Mountain.

Ch. 118Gargoyle

Mu You reached the summit of Mist Mountain but had to retreat because the extreme cold quickly endangered him. Before leaving the Tomb, he found and revived a Gargoyle that became his Familiar and could suppress his curse while extending his lifespan.

  • Mu You climbed the chimney to Mist Mountain’s summit, then used the Pocket Watch to return after the cold caused severe hypothermia.
  • Mu You searched the Tomb again and followed a faint plea for help to seventeen fragments of a shattered Gargoyle.
  • Mu You assembled the fragments, and the Gargoyle revived and recognized him while he wore the Vampire Skin.
  • Mu You checked the Gargoyle’s abilities and received blood essence that eased his Bloodlust curse and could add a year to his lifespan.
  • Mu You confirmed the Gargoyle still recognized him without the Vampire Skin and stored it in his backpack to keep it safe.

Ch. 119The Anomaly Investigation Bureau makes its move

The Illuminati investigated the deaths near K City and found evidence that Gao Ziming may have escaped with a Merfolk Mask, while Mu You remained unsuspected. As Mu You reached Peaceful Village, Lu Yao reported that the Anomaly Investigation Bureau had cornered the Werewolf after he attacked nearby female players.

  • The Illuminati's Diviner confirmed that three people died at the beach and that Gao Ziming fled into the sea, while a missing Merfolk Mask suggested he might have survived.
  • The Illuminati recovered the belongings of seven dead players, and their president worried that something about the incident was wrong.
  • Players and Anomaly Investigation Bureau experts visited K City, but Lu Yao's cover-up kept suspicion away from Mu You.
  • Mu You reached level eight, allocated his attribute points, and rode toward Peaceful Village to establish a Teleportation Array.
  • Lu Yao told Mu You that the Werewolf had attacked two women living alone, but her surveillance item exposed him and the Anomaly Investigation Bureau wounded and trapped him.

Ch. 120Night of Dark Winds and High Moon, Time to Slay the Wolf and Silence Him

Mu You rescued Xiao Ya from the Werewolf, who escaped the police and Anomaly Investigation Bureau’s search. Fearing the Werewolf would identify Xiao Ya and threaten her again, Mu You decided to hunt him that night with Lu Yao’s help.

  • Lu Yao told Mu You that the Werewolf had been cornered in Rainbow Bay Residential Area, where Xiao Ya lived, so Mu You called to warn her.
  • The Werewolf attacked Xiao Ya in her apartment stairwell, but her Thunder Mantis blasted him and gave her time to flee.
  • The Werewolf chased Xiao Ya and threw his Chain Claw, but Mu You deflected it with an Air Cannon and used Apparition to escape with her as police arrived.
  • The Werewolf fled before the police and Anomaly Investigation Bureau could catch him, while Mu You took Xiao Ya’s Thunder Mantis and pursued him without success.
  • Mu You called Lu Yao and insisted they confront the Werewolf that night, proposing that she act as bait while he hid nearby to create an opening for her Heart-Rending Curse.

Ch. 121Waiting for the Wolf with Yao as Bait

Mu You and Lu Yao set a trap to draw out the Werewolf, with Mu You confident he could protect her once his nighttime power peaked. The Werewolf attacked Lu Yao with a hook, and Mu You followed its path before using the Pocket Watch.

  • Mu You persuaded Lu Yao to act as bait, promising to stay invisible and protect her, and they agreed to meet at Xinshui Park.
  • Three hours later, Mu You and Lu Yao met beneath the crooked tree, and Lu Yao confirmed she had disabled nearby surveillance cameras.
  • Mu You delayed the trap until after midnight so the Night King's boost would reach its peak.
  • Lu Yao released Soul-Bewitching Incense to alert the Werewolf, then waited with Mu You nearby.
  • The Werewolf's Meat Hook struck Lu Yao and dragged her away, and Mu You traced the hook's direction before pressing the Pocket Watch.

Ch. 122Who Was the Villain, Anyway?

Mu You intercepted the Werewolf’s ambush and helped Lu Yao kill him, but the Werewolf revived with a Phoenix Feather and charged toward her. As Mu You was forced to fight the Sanctuary Knight, the Werewolf’s fear of him left him wondering who the real villain was.

  • Mu You grabbed the Werewolf’s Chain Claw and used it to pull himself toward the hidden attacker, then crippled and battered him.
  • Mu You discovered the Werewolf’s Blackglow Heart-Guard Mirror could block attacks to his heart, rewound time, and restrained the Werewolf instead.
  • Lu Yao cast a lightning spell that pulverized the Werewolf’s heart, killing him while Mu You held him in place.
  • The Sanctuary Knight taunted Mu You as a Phoenix Feather revived the Werewolf, who then charged at Lu Yao.
  • The Werewolf feared Mu You’s strength and cold gaze, questioning who the real villain was.

Ch. 123You've been buffed. Now go get yourself killed!

Mu You killed the Werewolf’s level-seventeen Sanctuary Knight after the Werewolf used a scroll to enhance it, revealing the devastating power of his Giant Slayer talent. With Lu Yao blocking the Werewolf’s escape, Mu You approached him to finish the fight.

  • Lu Yao and the Werewolf continued their running battle while Mu You suppressed the Sanctuary Knight, leaving the Werewolf shocked to see Mu You gaining the upper hand.
  • The Werewolf broke away from Lu Yao, reached the Sanctuary Knight, and used a scroll to cast Bloodthirsty Frenzy, greatly increasing the knight’s size and strength.
  • The enlarged knight attacked Mu You, but Mu You turned transparent to evade its sword, then killed it with three claw strikes.
  • Mu You explained that the knight’s increased size triggered his Giant Slayer talent, multiplying his damage against it.
  • The Werewolf questioned Mu You’s identity and tried to resist as Mu You approached, while Lu Yao blocked his escape with a wall of ice.

Ch. 124The Werewolf's True Identity Was Actually...

Mu You and Lu Yao captured the Werewolf, discovered that his village identity was Scarecrow, and stripped him of his lifespan and loot. After learning a tracing mark made killing him dangerous, Mu You handed him over to the police, then found Zhang Yang waiting outside the Pet Shop.

  • Mu You restrained the Werewolf and, with Lu Yao, used the villagers’ nighttime activity to identify Scarecrow as his hidden identity.
  • Mu You destroyed Scarecrow with Fatal Springwater, taking the Werewolf’s lifespan and collecting more than three hundred items as the Werewolf reverted to an unconscious human.
  • Lu Yao identified the Werewolf as wanted criminal Liu, and Vivian warned that killing him would transfer a tracing mark to the killer.
  • Mu You and Lu Yao arranged for the incapacitated Liu to be delivered to the police, where Zhang Yang recognized that someone had solved the Werewolf case.
  • Mu You visited the injured Xiao Ya, then returned to find Zhang Yang waiting outside the Pet Shop and approached him in his normal appearance.

Ch. 125Zhang Yang's invitation

Zhang Yang visited Mu You to thank him for his work at Qubai Mountain and invite him to join the K City Anomaly Investigation Branch. Mu You learned how the authorities identified him and left the conversation reflecting on Zhang Yang’s mistaken belief that he had turned a criminal over to the police out of respect for the law.

  • Zhang Yang introduced himself to Mu You, used an Attribute Detection Device to estimate his stats, and praised his strength.
  • Zhang Yang explained that big data analysis had identified Mu You as the Red-Clothed Man and said the state had recently discovered he was a player.
  • Zhang Yang described the small, under-resourced K City Anomaly Investigation Branch and invited Mu You to join voluntarily.
  • Zhang Yang said Mu You’s decision to hand the Werewolf over to the police convinced him that Mu You had a legal bottom line.
  • Mu You realized Zhang Yang had mistaken his practical reason for turning over the Werewolf as law-abiding conviction.
